This beloved family beach retreat is now being shared with travelers who will enjoy this well-equipped 1184 sf home and all it has to offer.
Walk one block to the Bay and the Recreation Trail that stretches for miles. It’s a delightful amble along the trail to Lover’s Point Park which is perfect for picnics, swimming and water sports, and features kayak, paddle board and bike rentals. Visit Asilomar State Beach (ideal for catching a dramatic sunset) and historic lodge and conference grounds. On your return, plan stops at the Point Pinos Lighthouse and the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary.
Living Spaces This 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom bungalow, built in 1910, has been beautifully updated with modern conveniences while retaining its vintage charm. The main entry leads into a sun room with wicker seating. A cheerful blend of seaside and garden-inspired art and decor pieces will delight all who enter.
The living room has comfortable seating, including a sofa and arm chairs near the gas fireplace. It flows seamlessly into the dining room with a large wood table and 6 chairs. French doors open to the deck with a gas grill and a table with 4 chairs. A vine covered fence serves as a backdrop. The outer yard is surrounded by a low white picket fence that encloses an attractive garden. Well-equipped for extended stays!
Kitchen and Dining The kitchen is an artful blend of vintage and modern elements and features a center island, 4-burner gas stove, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher and double sink, microwave, drip coffee maker, and Brita filtered-water pitcher. Off the kitchen is a large laundry room-bathroom combo with a standing shower and full-sized washer and dryer. Gorgeous wood graces the floors of the main living spaces while the kitchen and bathrooms have easy-to-clean vinyl.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms Bedroom #1 - Queen bed, nightstands with lamps, a small closet and direct access to a Jack and Jill style bathroom with a shower over tub. Bedroom #2/TV Room has a love seat that opens to a twin sleeper perfect for a child, a 37” flat panel TV, and a small closet. It also has direct access to the Jack and Jill bathroom. Please note that this is the TV viewing room and that the living room does not have a TV. Another sleeping option is a full/double sofa bed in the living room which can accommodate 1-2 children. Separate from the bedrooms, through the kitchen, is a full bathroom with shower and the laundry center.

Nearby, you’ll find plenty to experience and explore. Stroll the streets of downtown Pacific Grove, lined with locally-owned shops, restaurants, cafes, bakeries and galleries. Walk to the Monday afternoon Farmer’s Market. As you walk through the neighborhoods, look for little green plaques on homes that reveal the year it was built and the name of its original occupant.
The home is within walking distance to Andronico’s market, Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Continue on to Old Fisherman’s Wharf, Custom House Plaza and Old Downtown Monterey. Gem of a Property and Great Location
We loved this little beach cottage. It’s within walking distance to everything we might need or want-groceries, restaurants, the ocean-and a comfortable place to stay. The property managers (Sanctuary Vacation Rentals) are highly responsive and reliable.
Do take the advice on the listing that this property works best for 2 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children. Most of the time (1 month) it was just two of us, but for a week we had another couple with us. The pull-out beds were not comfortable (are they ever?), so they slept on high-end camping mattresses, which worked well. Otherwise the space was fine for 4
