"I tend to stay in this hotel when I come to Charlottetown for two reasons
1) the downtown location &
2) the staff (always warm & welcoming).
But the place always seems 2 b undergoing some form of construction or renovation which means a lot of men
working on the property roam about the halls freely.
For solo travellers this can be a bit unnerving since some of the rooms are in another building which requires taking a tunnel in bad weather from one building to the next. (Yes there is surveillance)
It doesn't seem 2 occur 2 management that this might b unnerving 4 some.
The other thing is the sub standard breakfast items left in room while breakfast room is being renovated (as tho the breakfast when there was a breakfast room wasn't bad enough)
Being peak summer in PEI I paid over $1000 for 4 nights.
To see an old orange & apple, a few muffins & cookies in the room really devalues the organization, i think, & gives the impression that the owners don't care that much even tho I believe they do.
There were a few problems with the room. The front desk staff aplogized but the new manager overrode my concerns pretending not to hear one that should probably have horrified her a little. She stood have stepped up & offered me a least a sincere apology if not a free night's stay.
Having said my stay was fine. The rooms in 1 bldg not as cozy as other i've stayed in in the past but ok 4 this time of year. I was happy enough. A very diverse, gentle & considerate staff."
