It’s a good location and it’s helpful to have breakfast included, but it wasn’t up to the usual Holiday Inn Express breakfast standards. We also had to get extra towels from a linen cart in the hallway because even though we had booked for 4 people, we only had 2 sets of towels in the room.

Excellent Staff, Breakfast, Spa, and Bay Views! Just be aware high tide comes in at 8-9am so leave early! Best second floor! Cars get submerged after 8:30am so parking is limited. Beautiful Mount Tamalpais! Great price and an hour drive into the Embarcadero is easy peasy and pass thru Golden Gate! Bed was so comfy and modern furniture

The parking lot flooded and almost flooded our car. We had to wade out in knee deep water. They had a couple very small signs warning about high tides. They should have put up cones or some sort of warning in the parking lot. The pet fee was $75. Much higher than other similar places.

We were warned of the high tide flooding by the front desk when we checked in and there was signage throughout property. However, I didn’t understand why management did not just block off the parking spaces. At high tide and with the addition of rain water very early the next morning, the water level in the known flooding area in the parking lot was enough to fully cover tires and in some cases get into vehicles. Guests were really upset. Water even got into first floor guest rooms. Our room was on the 2nd floor. However, power was purposely cut to our wing of the hotel and room as a safety precaution which I can appreciate but a notification of some kind (just knocking on the door) should have been provided. We had to get dressed and pack our things with only natural light from the window and forget about taking a shower (complete darkness in the bathroom). Hotel management definitely needs to plan better for these circumstances.

They charge an additional cleaning fee separate from the room rate. In 2025, how is this a thing? Charged my card for this but told me all i owed was the room deposit. Bathroom is tiny compared to the room. Pillows were lovely. Parking is always full.

On Sunday evening the power was out from 10pm until 9am. We had poor service from the general manager who never responded to our email below: I’m sending this email from the nearby Equator Coffee Shop to use their wifi as the power is still out at the hotel. I would like to request a credit for last night’s stay as with a power outage from 10pm (and as of 8am still no power) I paid for services that I didn’t not receive (power, internet, heat, shower, breakfast). I would also like to draw your attention to another unfortunate gap in service that occurred yesterday. When I returned from cycling at 2pm yesterday my key card no long worked. I was informed at the front desk that I was checked out per my reservation (However when I checked in it was clearly for 5 nights.) I was asked to produce my proof of booking again and then informed it was a system glitch and room keys were reactivated. I travel here several times a year to enjoy the great trail running and cycling, I have always been satisfied with your Mill Valley Holiday Inn but this trip I am disappointed. I would at the minimum request a refund of last night’s stay and I hope by the time I return to the hotel the power is back on so Leah and I can shower up and get on with more fun adventures!

I have submitted a credit card refund via chat. We DID NOT stay at the Holiday Inn. The Front desk called while we were enroute to advise that there was no electricity at the hotel.
