I booked in October '24 for the Point Break Festival in June '25. The pictures advertised a balcony but I realized in March that the listing actually says "oceanview" so I called to confirm whether or not my room had a balcony, the woman emphatically said yes, I had reserved a balcony room. On June 12th I called again to ask about parking. I double checked about my view, asking if we could see the beach from the balcony. She gave a wishy-washy "kind of". We check in, I pay the balance, and get on the elevator that we would soon find out is constantly malfunctioning (no inspection certificate posted in either one.) We get to the room and there is a sealed window overlooking the parking lot next door. No balcony and barely a view of water 3 blocks down. I spoke with the supervisor who told me that my room was changed in April in order to accommodate my reservation. She said that means they probably didn't have the room available when I booked it but that usually an oceanview balcony would change to a marina view balcony so she wasn't sure what happened and could only apologize. I think I locked in a good price on a room with a loophole that allowed them to deceive me. I called twice to clarify the details of the room so this is a reminder to get everything in writing. Obviously, the whole beach was booked for Point Break. No manager, no refund. I was left with no options and walked away from this experience just knowing that I'm not the first person they've done this to.
