The room was too warm at night-only allowed to lower thermostat to 68. Disappointed on the $10 pp cover charge for the rooftop bar. I find that that to be a steep price and tacky for a hotel bar. I can understand if there was live entertainment but there was not. Terrible service at the restaurant for breakfast.

Great experience!

Location: We could walk to the restaurants and shops. The Newport Mansions were a short drive or trolley ride.
The Vanderbilt Grace is a lovely hotel with the most friendly staff, awesome venues, and great food. We were so pleased with the hospitality of the staff and the way they made us feel welcome. The rooms were comfortable, the linens and towels first class, and the amenities covered all of our needs. We enjoyed the afternoon complimentary drinks and treats. We also spent time at the rooftop bar. The Spa and exercise facilities are top notch as well. Highly recommend.

A very special place that I hope to get back to one day. The service is better than the 4 Seasons!!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, the staff, location
Having never been to Newport we wanted to stay at a great place. The location is ideal, the hotel is simply lovely, the restaurant is great as is the history of the Vanderbilt Grace. The very best aspect of the Hotel in my opinion are the great people who work there. The staff truly goes out of their way to be helpful, welcoming and so friendly. A wonderful, memorable few days!!!

Excellent Staff, Location, Experience!!!

We spent a girls' weekend here and loved the wonderful staff . The hotel is perfectly appointed and every inch is used intelligently. The public areas offer a traditional feel that complements the building's Vanderbilt heritage. The back garden with its new in-ground pool is wonderful day or night. The rooms are furnished in a clean, crisp modern style and outfitted with great amenities/linens. The only possible complaint is that the pull-out couch wasn't more comfortable...maybe a memory foam topper would help out? Sunset on the roofdeck is sublime. We had dinner out -- less than a 5 minute walk to all the downtown spots and even closer to the great shops and restaurants on Thames Street -- so only ate breakfast at Vanderbilt Hall which we enjoyed in the shade on the patio with a fountain keeping us company.

Anniversary Weekend at the Vanderbilt Hall.

The Vanderbilt Hall is simply amazing!! I thought it was going to be this stuffy tacky Hotel, I was dead wrong. The Hotel Staff was great, they were very courteous, friendly, and helpful. The Hotel was completely renovated with all state of the art upgrades. We stayed in one of the few studios, this room was not your average sized room, it was the perfect size, the room and hotel was spotless. The Vanderbilt Hall is perfectly situated, a very short walk to everything. We parked our car and did not start it till we checked out. We have stayed at several Hotels / Motels in Newport and let me tell you we have found our home away from home at Newport. Cons: Having to pay for parking. The parking lot was on site and I did not understand why the parking fee was not part of the bill.
