I had two rooms both booked through Travelocity. When I got to the room I was told that one room, which was for 1 king bed, was 2 double beds. When I attempted to show the clerk my email reservation she responded that because this was booked through a third party this is what I will be getting because that is how it came through and nothing she can do. I asked 3 times if there was a king bed room available and said there is nothing she can do to accommodate even if she did. I took the room because what choice do I have but will NEVER book at Carriage House Inn (and I’ve stayed here before and was happy) and will reconsider through Travelocity if this is the problem one can come across when using a third party. I’ll Just use it for a source and call the hotel directly so I get the room I want!

It was okay but not worth the price. Toilet kept making noises all night and it was very simple accommodations. Nothing special. I don’t the the continental breakfast could be considered breakfast- it was just coffee and muffins. It did the job but a waste of money overall.

quaint location close to downtown Newport, and the Naval Base. Historic home excellently converted, staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely return

Lots of character, kind of dated though. After check out found out they charge $1.50 a night for a room safe (which we didn't use). Apparently you have to ask to have this charge taken off your bill. Seems a bit sneaky since they didn't tell us up front or at check out.

A Classic

The hotel was converted from an old mansion and maintains a lot of its grandeur. The staff was friendly and helpful. My wife & I found it to be an incredible bargain.
