Loved this Place, Nice big rooms, Mini Kitchen, outdoor grills, restaurant with Bar. Morning Breakfast was great for me. I don't like a full breakfast it's just to much in the morning. They had coffee(only bad thing) need to switch brands or something. Juices, Milk, Water, Cereal, Breads, Bagels, Hard Boiled Eggs, Yogurt, and Oatmeal. Could use some fruits for Oatmeal. Other than that not a bad thing to be said. Everyone was really nice and the place is beautiful. Need to call if your checking in later than 5pm. Pool was great, and they also had tennis courts and a Game room for Pool or Cards.

perfect for nature lovers

Pros: Close to nature and a marina in the back which was very nice.
Cons: Had to ask the front desk for toilet paper, but other than that a great place to stay.
Location: Airboat rides, fishing tours, manatee sighting tours are really close. Also many nature paths. Marco Island, Naples, and Everglades city close by.
February is the best month to see all kinds of birds and alligators in the Everglades. This property is ideal for doing this, as many of the walking paths are within 30 minutes of this hotel. There is a marina right in back of the property that has Manatee tours and fishing tours. Marco Island is only about 20 minutes away and it is very nice with restaurants and things to do. Downtown Naples is a little further away but worth the trip. The hotel has a store and restaurant on-site. The restaurant was pretty good.. My wife had the swordfish and I had seafood mac and cheese. Both were very good.

I would not recommend

The check in/check out staff were nice and made me feel welcome, but that’s where it ended. After a long day of exploring the Everglades, I was ready to get something to eat and get to bed. The attached restaurant was a joke. I waited 50 minutes for an appetizer that wasn’t even correct and when I took it back, I was told “but you ate 2” (I ordered quesadillas-the first one I ate to see if the fillings were there and the other I actually tore apart to see if they were). After speaking with the manager and demanding my money back, she returned it with many apologies. In my entire life, I have never asked for my money back, but I was angry enough to do it this time; maybe if the wait wasn’t so long, I would have just written it off. The rooms were adequate, but if you are like me and need darkness, you will not find it here. One of my window coverings was a shade and the other was a vertical blind. There were 2 colored glass windows that had no coverage and allowed light in. The Wi-fi did not work, however, in all fairness, I was told at check it that it might not. Breakfast consisted of cereal, oatmeal, several types of bread and little muffins. The protein option was a hard boiled egg-I was thrown off by this; maybe my expectations for a breakfast were just too high. I struggle to write negative reviews because I know that this is someone’s livelihood, however I simply can’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nice quiet get away.

Pros: Location.
Cons: Rooms are a bit dated and small.
Location: Marco Island, Everglades City, boat tours and airboat rides.
Very peaceful with a wonderful pool area. Marina convenient and boat tours available. Great food in the restaurant and on site bar with nightly entertainment. We really enjoyed our stay!

A tremendous find and a great value

Pros: The architecture. The center court. The incredibly helpful desk staff (Maureen).
Cons: If the attached restaurant would be open seven days a week.
Location: Fishing, Marco Island, The Fakahatchee Strand, Great Cypress NP, birding, wildlife viewing, hiking and boating.
We were looking for an affordable place to explore the Fakahatchee Strand SP, Great Cypress and other nearby outdoor attractions when we found this hotel on Travelocity. It looked nice for the money and it proved to certainly be that. The architecture is stunning, especially the interior post and beam atrium/court. The room layouts are reminiscent of a much earlier era when the hotel was built and there is just a bit of showing its age, but that also gave it character. The rooms are arranged around the huge atrium on two levels and there is an outside walkway/balcony on both overlooking a canal on the backside. Very pleasant experience.

Wonderful hotel, terrific staff!

Pros: Loved the on-site accommodations, such as the tour services right in the hotel lobby. It was a quiet, clean, and friendly environment.
Cons: The hotel amenities in the bathroom were lacking, only shampoo and soap offered, could have benefited from conditioner and body lotion.
Location: The location was right next to the marina and wildlife areas, however, if you are looking for more of a night life then there is not much.
We had a wonderful stay at this peaceful and serene hotel. Wildlife is abundant, and wonderful on-site guides are available in the lobby. We chose Sawgrass Safaris and were GREATLY pleased with the services and the expertise of Captain Tim. He went above and beyond the regular tour guide 'script' and made sure that we saw all the wildlife we wanted. He even circled around when the water cleared so we could get a better view of the manatees for picture taking. We look forward to visiting this resort again!

A architecturally interesting, comfortable hotel.

Pros: The architecture and the staff.
Cons: It could use a bit more dusting.
Location: The Everglades
Once we found the Hotel (and a way into it) we were amazed at its style from a bygone era. Our room was comfortable and the parking-- ample. We especially enjoyed the Friday Night Fish Fry.

Hidden gem outside the busyness of Naples

Pros: Indoor guestrooms in the main building, lobby was very comfortable and inviting, dinner available at hotel restaurant. Great location.
Cons: Would have enjoyed a few more hot breakfast options besides bread items for the toaster. The station was crowded, so perhaps expand.
Location: About 30 minutes southish from the Naples pier. Secluded, private. Surrounded by National Parks and a marina. Local bar 5 minutes up road.
We drove two hours from Southeast Florida and visited the Naples Pier and downtown since check-in at the hotel wasn't until 3PM. Check-in was easy since we had booked our room on travelocity. Though we didn't chat for an extended time with the staff, I appreciated that they had name tags to identify themselves and where they are originally from. One of the staff was from my home state of Michigan, so we chatted briefly about that. We were surprised to find that we had room access from inside the building since many hotels we've stayed in Florida require us to access the rooms from outside. The main lodge building felt an old college dormatory. Guestrooms in the main building where we stayed were on the second floor. Also on the second floor was a fitness area, male/female locker rooms and saunas. A large lounge was available with pool tables and big screen tv and a small library. The ground floor has a vaulted cieling, so it felt very open. A conference room was off to one side which we didn't explore. A dining hall served dinner during the evening which had a very fair priced menu. The bar was also open and had live music on Friday night. The continental breakfast was sufficient but not amazing. Fresh fruit, muffins, bread, bagels, and waffles could be toasted. Two cereal options and oatmeal were available as well as hard boiled eggs. The coffee was good, and they had bottles of oj and milk with small glasses. We had a very short stay, but enjoyed our time.

Stramge start to a great visit.

We really enjoyed our visit to this resort. It started out strange. We arrived at approx. 5:30 PM and found the place locked up tighter than a drum and one car in the lot. After trying all the doors, and going to the marina and trying all the doors there, we found a note telling us to call this number if we had a reservation. When we called it, we were given the combination to open a lock box, which had our key card in it. We got in and found the hotel was really lovely, the room was very clean, and comfortable. The next morning we finally met some of the staff. They were very frendly, and most professional. The Continental Breakfast was typical, but good. I would definately go back to this resort, especially now that I know the pricedure.
