property is overall very noisy, guests are very loud in the hallways. smoking in the common areas is prohibited but not enforced. Dining is limited, there are only 3 restaurants which are impossible to get reservations for ( i tried from the time i arrived) and one buffet dining which was decent. the entertaining was superb! staff was friendly and overall fun to be around.

Stayed with 5 other couples for a birthday. Overall, we all thought the Riu Montego Bay was great. The staff were all outgoing, especially Charlotte, it was her 1st week and she already was a seasoned pro. The food was not so great but after reading reviews, we already knew that it wasn't the best. Although the jerk chicken served at Pepes by the pools is unbelievable good. The beach, ehh, its a man made beach so the muddy feel of the bottom and the sea weed are a bit of a downer, once you have a few cocktails in you its all good! Would we go back? I can say my wife and I would go back for sure.

Food and service was great. Rooms smelt musty, beds were hard, and not sound proof. Could hear everything outside of the room, making for a tough sleep. Staff were friendly and the grounds were kept very clean. Would visit again, but would request a room not on ground floor.

Horrible this place treat me & my husband as if we were not human. I wish i could give it a 0 stars. Food Horrible, it was my husband 52 birthday & he could have died & no one care until i ran to the lobby crying & screening for hep. I dont think i would return to jamaica because of this.

Me and my wife visited Riu Montego bay, several times within the last few years. The only complaint we had was the over price gift shop. Go across the street to the supermarket. The guess need to boycott the gift shop

Last year we were placed at this property by United and figured let’s go back for our vacation this year. What a mistake. First upon check in we asked lady for. Welcome drink who then told us very rudely it was only for arriving guests which we were. Then we check in smoothly and get to the upgraded room they gave us. Wheww not an upgrade room smelled like mold and immediately kicked off my asthma which ro ended up sick half my trip. We spotted the mold and called front desk and they told us to come all the way back to front desk with luggage and get a new room set up. Had no bellhop at the ti e to come and help us and it was very far walk in heat with luggage. New room was fine no smell. I noticed powder in corners of bathroom showed my husband. Two nights in we killed a roach in our bathroom and figured the powder was either for ants or the roaches. Room restock was also an issue for us. It was not everyday and I think we got a restock service once the entire. Overall the hotel property is okay. Last stay we l were only there for two days so we thought maybe it would be fun on a longer trip. Plus we had a 654 room credit which to me was not honored at all and a Expedia agent called my room to explain, I asked for her to forward the details (which never happened of course) and it was a bogus credit to get you to book on Expedia. Planned to try the newer property next go round but even that had drama with a drowning incident. Many guest ended up at our property.

I visited there for my husband birthday, i had to sleep on a separate bed because it was 2 twin bed when i booked a king bed. . Our first night was a nightmare, the bed fell apart and my husband fell on the floor.
