"We had fantastic time at Metamare.Rooms were beautifully decorated with modern design.Very spacious, clean and light.Bed was so comfy and we had an excellent night sleep.Bathrooms of the both rooms we had booked were different but both spacious and very modern.Complimentary dental and vanity kits were so useful. The breakfast was absolutely delicious qnd so abundant including both savoury and sweet stuff.Excellent selection of different fruits, vegetables, cheeses, etc.I ate the most delicious chocolate cake but unfortunately forgot to ask about the proper name so that I can try to make it at home myself.Staff was very polite, friendly and kind. Surroundings are beautiful, location is perfect at the beach and all the area was so quiet.Literally a piece of heaven."

"Hotel was good and is strategically located in the middle of tourist sightseen spots. It has a great pool. The breakfast is good, but we had a bit of an issue during our stay. There were several large tour groups staying at the same time, including a particularly chaotic Hungarian tour group, which made the breakfast area incredibly crowded. The staff unfortunately couldn't keep up with replenishing the food fast enough. It would be much better if the hotel managed these large tour groups (especially hungarians) separately from normal people to avoid the breakfast rush. Otherwhise everything was great. Conversano where it is located is qute town which also offers some cultural experience."

Dal Canonico

"We booked Dal Canonico through Expedia we were going to a wedding at nearby Tenuta Pinto. The good : the pool, walking distance to Tenuta Pinto (warning - dusty track!), the gardens - fig trees, limes, olives and lots of places to sit, the yummy pastries at breakfast and the super, super helpful Alex -we were sorry we didn't get to say goodbye to him. Good to know: The rooms that have an ensuite (and cost more/ deluxe) are not in the main house but are in a meters-away barrel vault building that has no real windows and so you feel you are underground, which was a bit offputting. The rooms without ensuites are in the main house, and are characterful and have proper windows - so if you don't mind a short walk to the bathroom, these are by far the better rooms in my opinion. Not so good: it was was impossible to communicate with Dal Canonico in advance - even Expedia couldn't help. This was frustrating as we had booked months ahead and when we all finally heard from the hotel two days or so before we flew which it was too late - with one couple forced to pay for a night they weren't event going to be staying. Also, on the first night we had limited sleep due to a faulty hotel alarm going off intermittently but very loudly throughout the night. Alex apologised to us on behalf of the hotel which we appreciated but it would have been a nice touch to be offered a tiny gesture (free 2 euro swim cap perhaps?!) to make up for the lack of sleep in advance of the wedding!!"
