Lahinch Coast Hotel & Suites
"The hotel is nice and fairly modern. The beds were comfortable. The staff was helpful and allowed an early check-in. Free parking at the hotel is plentiful. The location is excellent as it is within walking distance to several restaurants and pubs. Some have live music. Music started late and the pubs were very crowded due to it being a bank holiday weekend. The only downside with the room/hotel was the heat. Our room was chilly and the radiators were not heating up. I called to ask about it and the explanation was that the heat for the hotel is set to come on at 8 PM. We were in the middle of two named storms and it was cold, windy, and wet outside. We went to a pub to get warm and stayed until after 8. Once the heat kicked on, it did warm up. It was a little cool the next afternoon as well. The bar/restaurant was just OK. We stopped in for a couple pints to check it out. I asked the bartender if he knew anything about Irish Whiskey and he said he didn't. He also didn't suggest anyone else on staff who might. There were two bartenders on duty and it seemed they were more interested in cleaning classes and doing their sidework than talking to customers. We had the one pint and left. I was really interested in trying a couple of Irish Whiskeys. Alas, that would be for another time and place."
