The price was too high for what we got. And $20.00 added to our bill for amenities. Sense when do 500.00 rooms charge for shampoo etc.

I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. We certainly want all of our guests to perceive value in their stay. The amenity fee is packaged to avoid the typical a la carte fees charged by hotels, thus eliminating the feeling of being “nickel and dimed”. The guest room amenities inclusive of the water and snacks are complimentary, The amenity fee includes parking and valet, Wifi, house car service within 3 miles of the hotel and many other goods and services. Thank you for sharing your experience, it will help us find ways to provide a better understanding to our guests!

Loved the courtyard. Hated the incline in the hallway to our room.

I am so glad that you enjoyed the courtyard. it is so lovely this time of year! I am sorry to see that the hallway to your room was not to your liking. We only have one area in the guest room hallways that has an incline, please let us know when you visit next and we will assist in finding a room that is a great fit for a wonderful stay. We are here for you and always want our guests to be happy!

Favorite place to stay

Pros: Courtyard dining, close to Stanford University and shopping center Front desk service was excellent
Cons: On the second day of our stay, the bathroom smells like a public bathroom, this is after housekeeping service
Location: Downtown Palo Alto was very energizing, although parking was a challenged
This hotel has a lot of history for my husband and I. We come here at least once a year almost always during winter time. This is the first time we've been in summer. The hotel was remodeled and updated but kept it's traditional theme (which we like). The front desk service was excellent, our room was even upgraded!

Hotel clerk went out of his way to find me a Wall Street Journal even though it was 10:30 PM. Hotel is close to Stanford, the shopping center, and The Oasis.

Nice quaint throw back hotel

Simply stated my stay with wife and kids at this hotel was amazing. The staff was welcoming, the rooms were clean, and the entire environment was classy. Others mentioned a train nearby but it wasn't often and it never bothered me. I would love to stay here again.

Excellent hotel, clean, luxurious and quiet

Pros: Luxurious, quiet and very clean rooms with all the amenities.
Cons: Breakfast service can be improved, suggest more staff
Location: Location is excellent, very near to Stanford University, large shopping center and excellent restaurants.
The hotel is close to Stanford University, the large shopping center and surprisingly quiet for being just off of El Camino Real. The in-house restaurant feels quickly, the overflow breakfast service in the adjacent bar area is slow and needs improvement but the food is excellent. High recommend this hotel. Definitely stay there again if the price is good.

Unpretentious Five star on my list!

Pros: Everything! but most of all - the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, the service, the food - all of it!
Cons: nothing! keep up the great atmosphere...
Location: Although it is a university spot - there are wonderful restaurants for "gourmands" and older adults - and the Stanford Mall is for everyone!.
From the reception desk, to the many amenities the service and attentiveness of the staff, this hotel (in my opinion) is the best in the Stanford/Palo Alto area. I lived in Los altos for over 18 years, so I met guest staying at all/different hotels in the area - the Stanford Park Hotel ranks tops! This is not a place where you will get overpriced room service, snobbish staff, and poor food service - this is Northern California at its best - understated, comfortable, sophisticated but unpretentious. My sister and I had a wonderful time - and we did not even partake of all the amenities offered- but even when we wanted to have a relaxed time in one of the patios, we were offered water and the staff made sure we were comfortable! - all very un-obtrusively.
