"The reception/desk staff were incredibly polite, patient, knowledgeable, and kind. The hotel itself is quite nice and felt like a great mix of historical existing touches and modernity - with nice beds and bathroom products. I do wish there had been a hotel guide in the room to give ideas on things to do in the hotel and surrounding area. However, the desk staff gave us feedback on a dinner choice we had made which reassured us. Parking was challenging in the garage they suggested (Marquette st) as we drive a Dodge Ram 1500, but we chose a different garage later (on 6th across from hotel) and were able to maneuver in and out a little easier there. We did not try the hotel restaurant as we felt it was very overpriced. I'm sure it was great - it's very pretty and they had plenty of diners. The pool area was nice but there were no towels at 8pm when we went - some folks took them from the gym across the hall I think and gave us their extras. Overall a nice stay and it was fun to be downtown vs further out from the activities we came for. "

"I don’t usually ask for a room change, but the room we were originally given smelled of smoke, was very musty/damp, and was down a very small/out of the way area on the ground floor. The staff were helpful and able to give us a different room. The new room was better, however the whole hotel just seems like attempts were made to upgrade the hotel, but it definitely missed the mark and was done with not great workmanship or updated furniture. I do not plan on staying again at this hotel."

"There were no covers on any of the ceiling lights in the room. The bathroom floor tile was cracked in several spots. The room was remodeled at some point and the carpet still had pieces missing where there was once a wall. There were big tears in the wall paper in the hallway. Breakfast was pretty good."

"The hotel was very quiet, which was great. The bar was ridiculously quiet, which was strange. No ambiance at all. I think the bar doubles as the restaurant, I never saw a restaurant. No one ever there. The bartender was friendly and provided great service. I ordered room service one night and it was the bartender that delivered it. I think he's kind of a one man show. It was fine but if you're looking for a lively , happy hour or music or anything going on at your hotel, look elsewhere. The food was ok. Maybe the bartender cooked too? Lol. It was very clean and comfortable. Great location."
