"My wife Kim and I recently stayed at the Stamford Plaza Hotel Brisbane after booking through Expedia.
On arrival, we were advised there would be valet parking, however there was no valet parking available and we had to self-park. While this was not the biggest issue, it was not what we were expecting.
The main problem was the room itself. It was absolutely freezing. We reported that the heating was not working, and maintenance attended the room three times during our stay. Unfortunately, despite these repeated visits, the heating was never repaired or made to work properly. The room remained very cold throughout our stay, which made it extremely uncomfortable. The only solution provided was one extra blanket, which was nowhere near adequate.
We were also told we would receive a $75 reduction to use at La Boca restaurant. Based on this, we attended the restaurant and had a meal there. However, when it came time to pay, the $75 discount was not applied and we were charged the full amount. This was very disappointing, especially as we had specifically chosen to dine there because of the discount we were told we would receive.
Overall, while the hotel is in a good location, the stay itself was very disappointing. The heating issue was never rectified despite multiple requests, the room was uncomfortably cold, and the promised restaurant discount was not honoured.
Unfortunately, based on this experience, we were not happy with our stay and would be hesitant to return."
