I would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a safe place to be after a day in Manila. The hotel is a high class hotel and if you can get aside from the cost of meals it is still a very enjoyable experience. The breakfast buffet is lovely and the staff throughout is amazing. Be prepared for the Armed security and security scans at the front entrance. The security made me feel more comfortable within the compound. Also, they have a strip mall/ outlet located on the property.

All staff were all friendly and helpful all the time we stayed at the hotel. My husband and I always stay here every time we’re in Manila because of the beautiful green space that is like an oasis in the middle of the metro. It gives us a relaxing feeling amid the chaos of Manila.

always a feeling of being home

Pros: Free breakfast
Edsa Shangri la has always been my choice of hotel whenever Im in Manila, friendly ,warm welcome and good breakfast has always been good . I requested a birthday cake for my wife ahead of my arrival in Manila and they have never forget about it, infact they ask me the exact time to deliver it to my room to supprise my wife.so they always really make to appoint not to neglect those things that the guest wishes. They will make adjustment to needs of the guest and not the other way around. so as always Edsa Shangri La has always been my Choice in Manila.

Highly reccomended for honeymooners and vacationeers

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Quiet
The hotel has an excellent location. Accessible to mass transportation, govenment offices, theatrers, malls and churches. The hotel has a quick-walk alley towards a huge mall and high end specialty boutiques. Entertainment at the lobby is refreshing. Ms. Celia of the lobby bar was so accomodating as she explains the various afternoon desserts served in the lounge which are native to the Philippines. The atmosphere in the lounge was so relaxing. Everyone we invited in the group enjoyed the meal and the soft music. Swim pools and exercise areas are genuinely clean and accomodating. Except for the concierge services, which we had to call their attention several times for our lugages and cab rides---i think the bell boys are busy chatting with each other most of the time during peak hours and during check out times. Nonetheless, the hotel is highly reccomended. Our stay was extended for a couple more days, however, I would call the management to improve their concierge services and cut down staff to a minimum to avoid more bodies talking than servicing customers. I did give the hotel a review and called the manager's attetnion about the concierge services. Ill give this hotell...three stars and a half!

Over price breakfast

I was waiting at the lobby for friend to take us out to dinner when i was told i can stay that i had to leave unless i order something. I ask to speak to the manager (Delhia) and she said that its the hotel policy.As a guest i thought that was totally inappropriate.Would i stay at Shangri-la again...definetly no.I was not a very happy guest .The price for breakfast is way too much $30.00 a pop with Dennys food items .I would rate the staff and security excellent .Overall the valve for the money is okay.

Hotel Rating

We are very satisfied booking our hotel thorugh Travel online. The hotel rate was reasonable...considering its a 5 star hotel. We received excellent service from the time we checked in and checked out. Hotel staff are very professional, courtious, polite and friendly. We have no negative experience during our stay. Also, the4 buffet breakfast was fabulous. We would recommend Shangril- La ( Edsa or Makati ) to our friends and relatives. Regards, Mr & Mrs Arnie Varilla Danville Ca 94526 U.S.A.

Worth every penny

It is the best five star hotel in Manila. The room was always clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The staff was well mannered and educated. The massages were excellent and well priced when compared to prices in the states. The food in the restaurants was delicious and so was the food delivered via room service. The lobby is beautiful and a wonderful place to sit and have a drink and people watch. The place exudes class and privilege yet is comfortable and accessible. i enjoyed lounging by the pool and having a drink delivered to my lounge chair. Also the two adjacent malls made it easy to find anything i needed and wanted. it was a wonderful vacation and i would stay there again and recommend it to anyone looking for place to stay in manila.

Manilian Oasis

Edsa is a nice place to get back to an unwind after spending the days in the hectic streets of Manila. Well known by the locals, it is easy to hop a cab there from the airport. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Food on site is good, but a simple walk around the area will net you better food for a quarter of the price. Large EDSA Shopping Mall is a block away, along with the train station (if you are feeling adventurous.)

Awesome!!!!!!

Being new to this place has open my eyes to what hospitality is all about. I have been to many five star hotels and can honestly say that this hotel ranks very high against those that I have been to in the states. Everyone from the bell person to the cashiers were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is totally 5 STAR!!!!!! I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a first class experience. This hotel should not be a considered a five star but a five diamond one instead.
