TV did not work. No milk in fridge and none offered at reception. Shower had lining rotting and falling off the wall. The grounds were in a sorry state with poor parking area. Weeds growing everywhere. Not what we were expecting for $353 for one night.

This hotel was clean but that’s not what I felt at first glance. Cooking Teflon pan was peeling off. Once I asked for a replacement staff immediately fixed the problem. Then we noticed that the only provided 2 towels for a reservation for 4. Again very quickly provided. Then noticed 2 lights in the living room were out. Electrician did not seem competent. He should have first tested the breaker but instead started retiring the fixture with live wires. Glad he did not kill himself. He did however short the circuit before fixing it. This hotel needs a REAL hotel manager. Staff was helpful.

This property was misrepresented on the hotels.com and not worth the price we paid. Due to their policy of no refunds we were forced to stay. The rooms were dirty upon arrival and not at all like the pictures. One of the rooms was missing soap in the bathroom and when we asked for soap they said they had run out. Additionally the shower drains backed up during showers in both rooms. Water pipes leaked on the exterior of the rooms dripping out of the overhang in front of the room doors.

Only booked it as had no other option. We couldn't sleep all night due to no air con or even a fan. It was so hot. Couldn't keep the balcony door open as there were too many mosquitos and bugs. The outdoor wooden furniture had bugs crawling all over it so couldn't use it. The bedding had a stain on it. Property is outdated and dirty. The shared kitchen facility was disgusting too. I won't recommend this property. The view is amazing but not worth staying a night when all you need is a good sleep to recharge for the next day. Come on guys, a fan is a basic thing you can provide in hot summer and wash the duet cover if it's dirty. Get rid of the outdoor furniture and put insect repellant screen in bathroom.

TV wasn't working so they changed my room then the 2nd TV stopped working. Most of the staff did not speak much English. It is not really an hotel. There was no breakfast available as breakfast was one of the reasons I booked there. Quite a scruffy old motel. Room was clean and tidy but very basic. I wouldn't stay there again.

I stayed here recently and unfortunately had two serious issues. First, after waking up, I found multiple dried blood stains on the bed sheet. The stains appeared set into the fabric and were clearly not fresh, which raises concerns about housekeeping standards and inspection before the room was allocated. Second, the check-in information provided stated that check-in closed at 8:00 pm. Relying on this, I rushed from Christchurch and skipped planned stops to arrive on time. However, when we arrived around 7:00 pm, reception was already closed, and the check-in letter with the room key had simply been left unattended on a shelf outside. Had this self-check-in arrangement been clearly communicated in advance, there would have been no need to rush. Both issues were disappointing and could have been avoided with better hygiene control and clearer communication.

The young guy on reception was very polite and helpful. The rooms are basic, but clean and the beds are comfortable - the view over the lake to the mountains is stunning. But omg New Zealand, home of sandflies, put insect screens on windows!😀
