Serenity Mountain Retreat

About this space
Serenity Mountain Retreat - Sleeps 18, 5BR, 4BA, 2Half Baths, Log Home, hot tub, Wi-Fi, firepit, Pet friendly

The space
Serenity Mountain Retreat is a beautiful sprawling cabin located on over 500 private acres sleeping 18 people. Set between two mountain peaks, this beautiful cabin has all that you will need during your visit to the Great Smoky Mountains. The view from the great room is outstanding with the floor-to-ceiling windows, and a comfortable wrap around sectional sofa facing the gas fireplace and larger screen satellite TV.

Serenity Mountain Retreat has room for the whole family with a master bedroom that boasts a beautiful king-sized custom log bed. The guest rooms range from queen sized to bunk beds. The game room includes pool, ping pong, foosball tables and large screen TV. The laundry room is outfitted with a full-size washer and dryer, so no one waits for their winter clothes or summer towels.

We designed Serenity Mountain Retreat as our family vacation home. Our wish is that you and your family will enjoy this beautiful mountain home and respect it as if it were your own. A lot of love and care has gone into building this family retreat. We invite you to bring your family here for rest and relaxation and to enjoy the beautiful mountains that surround the property. Since it is our family cabin it has a Christian theme, but all are welcome.

Enjoy the wooded and mountain view while relaxing on the large upper deck. A screened porch provides an outdoor dining and seating area that is a family favorite for us. Serenity Mountain Retreat offers central heat/AC, gas burning fireplace, Wi-Fi, Satellite TV, hot tub, gas grill, outdoor fire pit, and plenty of parking and lots of great hiking directly from the cabin.

Serenity Mountain Retreat is an excellent location to explore the area. Mere minutes away from Maggie Valley Club and Golf Course, Lake Junaluska Conference Center & Golf Course, Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (a historic motorcycle museum featured on History Channel's “American Pickers”), and several restaurants, shops and micro-breweries in Maggie itself. Serenity Mountain Retreat is a great location for skiers, the mountain adventurer, destination weddings and retreats.

Located within a 18 minute drive are the historic Downtown Waynesville, scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Cataloochee Ski Area ((known for being one of the first ski resorts in the US to open each year), Ingles and Publix Grocery Stores, Walmart, and many great restaurants, local micro-breweries, craft shops, and boutiques. A list of our family favorites will be provided at the cabin.

Within 35 minutes are Asheville and the Biltmore Estate & Winery (America's largest and most visited privately-owned home), many great restaurants and micro-breweries in Ashville and Cherokee, Harrah`s Casino, Pisgah National Forest, more golf courses, Bryson City (home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday), Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and hundreds of antique shops.

Within a 45-minute drive you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with an enormous dining Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and multiple charming towns and the Ashville Airport.

Just over an hour away are Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (home of Dollywood a wonderful family theme park with great music).

Guest Access
The drive up the mountain is all paved with moderate inclines and turns into the cement driveway which then becomes gravel. It is accessible also by travel van, but just ask the host for additional instructions to make it easier for you. For winter access, if it's snowing it is suggested that you have at least one 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicle and all other vehicles can be parked on our private road below the cabin. In deep winter it is recommended that you frequently check the internet to stay informed of the weather and travel conditions. On rare occasions if there is a big snowstorm or ice conditions tire chains could be recommended, or arrive before or wait until after those conditions melt off before proceeding onto the roadways. The ability to get to and from the property is the responsibility of the guest and is not provided by the homeowner.

Other things to note
Our other family cabin is down the mountain just 5 minutes with a more level access and covered parking. We made it larger than Serenity now that our family has expanded so 4 Loves Lodge main cabin is a 5 bed, 5 ½ bath log home that sleeps 22, with a separate efficiency that sleeps 2.

If you have trailers, motorcycles, or extra-large vehicles or RV’s 4 Loves Lodge is a better alternative as it is lower, has covered parking and a very easy access off the main road.

Must be a minimum of 25 years old to rent Serenity Mountain Retreat. This cabin is smoke free. No parties above the guest limit. $100 nonrefundable pet fee per animal

Thanksgiving Week Stay

We had a wonderful time celebrating Thanksgiving in this lovely home. The property was as described and outfitted with all the essentials for a great stay. We were a group of 15 including adults, teens and toddlers. The amenities were perfect for our stay and the host was very responsive when we had questions. Everyone had a great time. Thank you!
