This is the second time we have been there and love the property. It’s quiet and has a real family feel to how it’s run. All staff are friendly and accommodating. We really appreciated Alex and Jami.

Comfortable stay at right price

First trip to Barra so I picked this hotel after reviewing several options. It’s a short walk from the main street and the bus station where we were arriving. Our room was clean and adequate but disappointingly at the back of the building when the room photo showed a view of the pool. The beds were surprisingly comfortable for Mexico. The safe did not work so the hotel offered a safety deposit box at the front desk. I purchased the breakfast included option and did not regret this decision. Service was below expectation and staff were decidedly unfriendly. But the breakfast was excellent. The pool was clean and seating/shade was plentiful most days. The hotel hosts ‘open mike’ musical afternoons where older Canadian and US people gather to serenade themselves and those unfortunate guests who were hoping to spend a quiet afternoon at the pool! WiFi was good and we felt safe. Would I stay again? Probably not - at least not during the winter ‘snowbird’ season.

Our original room through expedia was probably the worst room on the property. The door to the patio was so narrow one had to turn sideways to get outside. The view was a wall to a busy road. The patio itself was a utility cover. The general manager, Maria, quickly resolved the problem and got a nice pool-view room for us. Overall, the property was very nice. Lots of families on weekend. Otherwise, quiet. Fantastic staff.

This was a very nice hotel within walking distance of the main downtown area. It is an older property and needs some upgrading, however it was very clean and well maintained. Food at the restaurant on site was well prepared and reasonably priced. The main disadvantage to the property is lack of amenities such as a small fridge, or coffee/tea makers, or hair dryers.

This is an older property with charm. great location. Within walking distance to the malecon. staff was great. property was beautiful, nice big pool, and pickleball courts. The food was good as well.

I didn't like the fact that the front desk staff did not speak english and was very hard to communicate. When i asked about the complimentary breakfast, they could not understand and/or said it wasn't included. (if you go on expedia, it says it is included) (might have been, because there wasn't many people staying there and they didn't want to set up). I contacted Expedia to change my reservation before the date they said I could, the only thing i heard back was, that they couldn't connect with the resort. (so i paid for an extra day). I asked about changing rooms to a king bed, because my reservation said 2 doubles or a king, they said resort was full - not correct. we were stuck in the very back of resort. Pickleball courts were good. Little disappointed overall. I am not a picky person or expect 5 star service.
