Great resort

Pros: The room, food, pool and staff. All the staff went out of their way to ensure you were having a great time.
Location: We did the deluxe city tour with lunch and greatly enjoyed all the stops, specially lunch.
Everything was top rate except for some inconsiderate guest that showed up mid week. These people were part of a corporate group who were loud until 1 - 2 in the morning. Hotel security took care of the problem on the second night.

it's a rip off.. food is horrible (restaurants have good ambient and look nice, but I kid you not the food is worst than fast food). and the hotel is built like fortress and all in and outs are monitored and checked and they don't allow guests to visit.

Too Secluded

The resort was amazing! Great hotel activities, food and drinks were delicious, friendly staff (especially Martin), and the fact that no kids were allowed was the best. The only downfall is that the resort is so secluded from everything else that all tours take from 1.5 to 2 hours to just get to the locations. There are no taxis available in the resort and the transportation that the resort does offer costs about $85 per trip. Also, there really isn't a beach access. There are trails that lead you to the beach, but it's a pretty lengthy walking distance to just see the water (you can't actually get in the water to take a dip nor swim for the matter because the tides are too high).

Relaxing after the initial incident

Pros: The service was phenomenal. Everyone there was very polite, courteous and outstanding. I would come back just for that type of service.
Cons: I would like better options for the room service, like ordering drinks from the barn and adding more food selections.
Location: We were in the San Jose Del Cabo side. So far from downtown which was okay with us. However, we still weren't able to swim at the beach.
When we arrived to the resort, our room was available. We checked in and went about our day. After coming back from the pool, I jumped into the shower. I hadn't started washing my hair yet and noticed there were clumps of hair on the walls of the shower. It was very disgusting. We were very grossed out about the whole thing. We let the manager know that we didn't feel the room was properly cleaned. After some going back and forth about the situation, they moved us to another room. At which point, she assured us that our room was properly cleaned. That definitely helped and put us in a better mood. We enjoyed our trip after that. We also didn't like the fact that we couldn't order alcoholic drinks to our room from room service. We had the swim out room, so having drinks would have been nice. I stayed at the Secrets Resort in Puerto Vallarta and we were able to order drinks 24hours of the day.

We were disappointed with the service when comparing to Dreams resorts. The servers were not very attentive to our needs. The food was also disappointing compared to Dreams. We loved our room and the swim up. Our room didn't get cleaned 2 of the 7 days and we were gone all day. The resort grounds were lovely and the spa was too.

*** URGENT*** DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY

This was the worst vacation experience I have ever had. The staff make you feel like you are an imposition and the leadership is non-existent. We were harrasessed with upselling of services, woken up by a 10pm turn down service. Housekeeping rarely cleaned our room before 5pm. Other than the Italian restaurant, the food is bad and the service even worse...either you don't get your food, or it's the wrong order. There are flys all over and eating breakfast in the buffet is gross. I will never consider another Secrets resort, let alone this one.

We feel very sorry that our housekeeping service turned to be a major inconvenient to you, our housekeeping ladies are just doing their job the best way they can, please allow me to mention as a reference for future guests that they work in the nightly turn down service until 10pm, and if people do not want to feel bothered or disrupted in their suite, they can always turn on the do not disturb button, again, we feel really sorry that this was a terrible issue for you. It is never pleasant to read that our food services did not fully satisfied you, we use ingredients of the best quality in every restaurant, and we feel very sorry that the host that attend you did not give you your desired table and make you pass that terrible situation, it is a shame that what you experienced ruined your whole experience. We also would like to know with who was the person you reach out to speak to our manager, because the situation you describe is really unusual since he is always in the property to attend personally any situation or any guest who requires his presence. This was exactly what we wanted for a short getaway. Excellent resort with lovely rooms and a friendly staff :) Great food and a great view of the ocean. Would definitely recommend!

Nice hotel not great food

We stayed here last year that's why we went back and this time was not like the last. Room service was wrong almost every time. The food was pretty poor. If you were a drinker the shots were very heavy handed so that is a plus!

Activities for everyone in this adult only resort

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Location: Situated on the non swim beach, but an area to swim in the ocean 15 mins walk along the sand. 10 mins drive to San Jose for gift stores and galleries
From the minute you step onto the resort grounds you are treated well, from the champagne on arrival to the chocolates as you leave. Probably one of the best hotels I have stayed in. There are activities if you want to partake, or two great pools of you wish to relax. The staff were so attentive, you couldn't ask for better.
