Stay on a family-owned working farm with an organic garden, free-range chickens, goats, and dairy cows. Enjoy the sweeping views of the canyon, bright night stars, and our gentle Mediterranean climate from the sprawling deck. Cows meander right past the windows behind the house, and goats are eager to meet new friends and eat goat feed from your hands. This is a place for dreamers, with space to breathe and simplicity that offers respite from the day-to-day rush.
The house is tucked away in a corner of our 40-acre property surrounded by old-growth oak trees. In front of the house is a large, fenced-off lawn, perfect for letting kids get their wiggles out, or for playing a group game of frisbee or soccer. The large deck wraps around the whole house allowing for breathtaking views of the farm from above, and the bright stars at night. The large farmhouse kitchen is perfect for cooking up a haul from the farm stand just a short walk away. Fresh fruits and veggies, baked goods, and handmade items all from our farm and local farm partners are stocked, and the farm stand is open on the honor system from sun up to sun down. Wake up early to watch our team as they milk the goats, feed the chickens, and collect eggs in the morning; or view the garden as the team buzzes with harvesting, weeding, planting, and irrigating by hand.
Guests have access to the entire house, back patio, deck, and front lawn. The giant front lawn is shared by the hosts. They're also free to walk around the farm to visit the animals, look at the garden, and shop the farm stand. The property with horses is not ours.
The large grassy area in front of the house is shared with our family as we use it to play with our children. Come say Hi if you see us!
We are eager to make your stay with us comfortable and memorable. We are sometimes available on the property, however, the best way to reach us is through the Airbnb app or by text message.
A trip to nearby Lompoc is ripe for adventure. The town is just 5 minutes from the farm, and the valley offers activities including golf, biking, hiking, surfing, and even sky diving! A stop by the Lompoc Wine Ghetto will offer a taste of the local wines from the Santa Rita Hills wine appellation. Lompoc has space to explore – where Highway 1 meets Route 246. See more at explorelompoc.com.
Please note there is very little cell service on the farm. If you require it, please do not expect it at the farm and look for another place to stay. Otherwise, ENJOY being unplugged for a bit. Your soul and mind will thank you.
THERE ARE FREE ROAMING DOGS ON THE FARM. They will come say Hello. They will bark to alert us when you drive up. They are all cuddly and friendly; they play gently with our 4 small children.
We are in the country. There are bugs, wildlife, and dirt. We clean bugs away regularly but they come back quickly. At night there is a chance of seeing a fox, raccoon, skunk, opossum, or a very rare bobcat. They will very rarely approach or even come close. Do not be alarmed. Please do not feed our dogs or the wild animals. If you would like to feed the goats or chickens, bags are made available at the Farm Stand for $2.00 that are labeled for the correct type of animal.
Please treat our home with the same respect as you would your own: use the amenities gently, pick up after yourself, clean the kitchen when you use it, don't rearrange our furniture or decorations, and don't eat in the bedrooms.
Please drive slowly through the farm, and be aware of free-range animals, children, and other farm guests.
Do not log out of the hosting accounts or change TV and sound system settings, so they remain available for our next guests.
Do not feed any of the animals: farm dogs, livestock, or wild animals, unless you are using bags from the farm stand expressly labeled for feeding the goats or chickens.
Fires in the fire pit and barbeque must be attended to at all times.
Please do not wear your shoes inside the house, and leave nature outdoors.
Parties and events are not allowed on the farm. Please notify us of any visitors you expect. Overnight guests who are not expressly included in the reservation are not permitted.
Observe quiet hours from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am.
