Having stayed at the Mercure Atlantic Towers for a number of years, it was disheartening to find out the ‘digital aspects’ are taking away from the quality customer service. Gone are the days when you could speak to reception by phone, now you have to Whatsapp, wait for a reply. All very frustrating and long winded. Ordered room service due to it being a packed Liverpool Parade Day, we were given a time of delivery, but the food didn’t arrive until an hour after that. I appreciate it was a busy day due to the Parade, unfortunately customer service just wasn’t up to the standard we have come to expect from this property.

Great view of the Liver Building and good location

I stayed here with a group of 11 of us in total. Room was ok but very small as we chose a standard room. The AC wasn’t great and you can’t open the window so the room was very stuffy. The staff we engaged with were all very friendly. Don’t eat at the hotel so can’t comment on the food offering.

On arrival to the hotel, we were a little taken back, it looked quite dirty then outside needs an overhaul. Definitely needs TLC, I hoped the interior was better, the main reception was clean. Smelled nice. Going to our room on the 9th floor I was dissatisfied, the room was small, we looked out onto a square of buildings making to room dim…. No view at all. The sheets had hair on which I noticed straight away. There were stains on the carpet that looked like orange colour, I wasn’t happy so asked at reception to move. We were moved to another room with ease, the rooms themselves need to have carpets cleaned, the paint work needs redoing and looked quite tired. The room we ended up in had a nice view of the Mersey across the dock, bigger bed, bathroom was clean with a shower head. That was all nice and modern. I don’t feel it was worth my £448 for two nights. I wouldn’t stay again. The only really good point was the area and were it was situated. Off the beaten track but easy access to all shops and transport and the docks and most of the Beatles tourist sights. The dock was wonderful loads of places to go eat, and drink. Cavern club was 10 mins walk away. Loved the area.
