Rooms were clean and staff were very helpful at the reception. House keeping was not upto the standards expected. Breakfast was limited and hot dishes like bacon, eggs, sausages etc were very cold. No proper supply of tea and coffee packets in the room. The cups were tiny for morning tea.

The hotel location was excellent. The rooms were clean & comfortable, and the staff was courteous. And the breakfast that was included was very nice and had a wide number of options. Our disappointment arises because the photos & description of the room reserved did not match what we were given upon arrival. We reserved a Deluxe Double Room (Castle/River View). The photos of such rooms appearing on the Hotels.com site all show bright rooms with large windows and/balconies. Our room (#407) was dark and had only a very small window (~1.5 ft X 2.5 ft) crammed into a corner, behind a desk. While itā€™s true that one could see the castle if they shoved themself in between the wall and the desk, and craned their neck to look outside, the marketing photos do not accurately portray the room provided. When I brought our disappointment to the manager, he was courteous but explained that marketing photos cannot be relied upon and no other rooms were available. He also stated their affiliation was with Expedia, not a hotels.com, so he was unable to explain any inaccuracies that maybe be present. Additionally, no hairdryer was provided despite being described as an amenity on Hotels.com when our reservation was made. We are frequent users of Hotels.com and have relied heavily on the site for our vacations over the last many years. Weā€™ve never run into such an issue before. While we very much enjoyed our recent visit to Lisbon, this experience was quite disappointing.

We stayed for 7 nights. The room was large, for Lisbon, and the bed huge! The bottle of mineral water was replaced every day and the Nespresso machine was restocked with capsules too. It was clean, pleasant and quiet. However, on the first morning, we reported an issue with the shower being broken which prevented us from being able to stand under the shower head and this was not resolved until the 7th evening. We had no bath towels one day and I didnā€™t notice this until after Iā€™d used the ā€˜showerā€™ and had to dry myself with a robe and a hand towel. We also spent two days with no tissues. Indeed, one evening we found the tissue box dismantled and left empty for the second day. Yes, these are First World problems but theyā€™re not acceptable for such a class of hotel for which weā€™d paid a premium price. The breakfast was reasonable although I found the hot buffet to be lukewarm most days. Would I stay there again? Itā€™s doubtful - the previous 5 times weā€™d been to Lisbon in the previous 5-6 years, weā€™d always stayed at a particular hotel of the same class in Baixa but fancied a slight change of scene this time. It was worth a punt and the slight change in location.

Staff were very friendly and we felt really looked after during our stay. The hotel breakfast was very nice with a large selection of fruits cheeses and pastries every morning. Hotel is very well situated for Rossio train station. Lots of bars and restaurants are in easy walk.

It was on a quiet street but very close to restaurants, sites, and shopping. The staff was great, helpful, and professional. The only downside was that we stayed in an unrenovated room with no Netflix.
