The only thing I didn’t like about the place is I rented a car I had to pay $29 a day for parking. I think that should be included in the resort fees.

It was a great location both in relation to other parts of the island and the long, quiet beach. Could have used more pool chairs as people seemed to wake up early to ‘save’ chairs, which is just so selfish and ridiculous. Parking and resort fees were annoying as they always are.

Beautiful pool and garden areas. Beach access. We liked that this resort is not on top of other hotels - it is a standalone property. The food was high quality for all of their options. We liked the entertainment in the bar each evening. There is some room for improvements though -- like remodeling the rooms (ie. replace the soiled damp carpet, replace the tired upholstered furniture, etc.) Also, the resort should add more chairs and umbrellas to the pool area for when it gets crowded.

The property has the makings of a luxury stay resort and it was nice but it wasn't as nice as I was expecting. The room had signs of lots of wear and tear from drywall patches to discolored paint, stains, rust, and a door that didn't open fully because it contacted the floor. Additionally, I paid for an upgraded sea view room and I could see the ocean from my balcony but it was a ways off through trees. I expected a more direct, unobstructed view. The equipment in the gym is all rusted, and they were fixing the fire system which meant hammering and commotion during the day along with random fire alarms. Despite the annoyances with the resort experience, we both had a wonderful vacation. We'll definitely return to Kauai but we're unlikely to return to the outrigger

Staff were very polite. Location was fantastic. Close to the airport and grocery shopping. The only complaint I have was that the pools were all freezing cold. My child wanted to swim as he does on every vacation and barely went swimming while we were there because the pools were ice cold. Others must have felt the same because there were a good number of people in the pool area, but very few in the water. It was sad that it was so uncomfortable that we could not utilize the pool to the degree we would have liked. We have traveled to Hawaii many times and all over the world and have never encountered this problem.

Wonderful customer service! The property is slightly outdated inside. It needs a little love! The restaurant wasn’t that great but the views and beach access was terrific!

The pool area was nice- but about 30 lounge chairs for 300 rooms??? Could never get a lounge chair by the pool. They nickel and dimed you to death. They are raking in the money with car parking at $29 per day, $30 per day resort fees-which didn't include much, $25 PER HOUR extra if you wanted a late check out, $6 per cup of plain coffee, high drink and food prices with just ok menu, lots of maintenence going on on our floor. Won't stay here again

The shower / bathtub was not clean hair was everywhere. The first time the the toilet was used it backed up. The smoke detector went off three nights in a row with no prior warning they were working on the system. Property needed to be refreshed painted, ice machines replaced where they were missing. The pool water was ice cold. There was not enough lawn chairs around the pool. The patio screen door stuck and jammed each time you try to move it.

We had a good stay at the outrigger but were disappointed by a few things. 1) hidden fees. When we checked in we were asked to pay $35/ day for resort fees and $29/ day for parking. Theres no options to park anywhere near besides the paid parking. 2) not located near any shops or restaurants, deeming having a car a must fir this resort. 3) perhaps the most dissapointing was that the beach at the outrigger is basically unswimmable due to rocks and reefs on the water. If youre coming to hawaii for beach time, this may not be the best spot for you. 4) while the pools were very nice, there were a strangley minimal ammount of lounge chairs by the pools. Many times we could not even find a chair, let alone trying ti find 2 chairs. Maybe buy some more? It was nice being between the north and south of the island, this gave us the option to really see everything. The morning yoga was also nice.

They do not make you aware of the extra fees for parking and resort fees when booking. It was an extra $700 at check out we were not expecting to have to pay!!
