Maintenance Construction noise for two days of my stay
Unfortunately, the HOA fi you will (the Jockey Club) notified owners of the condos (that are on VRBO) that they would be doing routine maintenance and to expect noise, Mon-Fri from 9am to 6pm. This was impact drivers against concrete, and hammering noises in the ceiling directly above my unit. For hours. Daily. I video'd it, I reported it, I asked for help. The owner of the condo, should've alerted Strip View Suites to do blackout dates. As someone attending a conference, and having sections of the day that I was back in my room to recoup, this made it impossible to handle work calls, take a nap... much of anything.
And there was "Sorry, we weren't aware, there's nothing we can do about it."
Also, check in was TRICKY.
There is a very obvious queue when you reach the lobby. I waited in line. No no, we can't help you, you have to knock on that door over there that has 1" tall lettering (SECURITY) on it. Yes, check in tells you to go to the "Security Desk". Not on any planet was that an obvious signage.
Would I stay again? Maybe. It's cheap. Would I stay if I knew there was going to be noise? Not even for savings. It was LOUD. For HOURS. Incessant. At least I know how to check in. If anything, I hope my review will allow people two learning points: ask about construction for your designated dates, and know how to find the SECURITY DOOR when arriving.
