We were in town for our son’s wedding, with extended family traveling from Oklahoma for the celebration. We checked in on Thursday, so our family could join us on Friday. When we arrived, the code we were given did not work. I reached out to Vrbo for help, and they provided additional codes to try, but none worked. In the meantime, I left a message with the property manager. The property manager was friendly, but didn't seem to know about our stay. We booked in August. The owner answered the Ring doorbell camera and shared his code. When I entered the main bedroom, I noticed something on the floor, stepped on it, and immediately realized it was a mouse. The main bedroom drawers contained clothes, a toothbrush left in the downstairs bathroom, and everything was off, more than disappointing. In the kitchen, used spices were on the countertop. In the corner cabinet, a nasty pickle jar and other food items were sitting on a dirty lazy susan. Carpets were dirty, not even vacuumed. Bed linens were worn out. Many beds did not even have a mattress pad. Thank goodness I brought extra sheets, blankets, pillows, and comforters, but I still had to go to Walmart for more. The windows were covered in handprints and dirty; the sunroom in the back had no furniture, and the pictures shared when I rented didn't match what I found. It is a beautiful property with good bones, but it is not maintained and shouldn't be a Vrbo listing.
