I had a great stay at Hotel Solaria. The hotel was clean, modern, and conveniently located near public transportation, shops, and restaurants. Fabulous location in the heart of "downtown" Kyoto - yet calm and quiet. Many great restaurants, shops and sights close by. And the river and canals for strolling and picnics. Our only complaint - and this was true of every accommodation we stayed in in Japan - it would be great to have robe hooks and towel bars/racks in the bathing area!
