We would firstly like to extend our Thanks to Mr Sevoki (Reception Manager) who took the time out to come and talk to us about our check in debacle caused by the reception staff during our stay. Whilst we do appreciate his efforts of an apology on behalf of his staff members, we still feel that this was an avoidable, unfortunate and unnecessary incident to have occurred. We were looking forward to our hassle free relaxing overnight stay at the Novotel Nadi. Our check in should’ve been a very straightforward process, since we didn’t request any additional upgrades/changes just expected to be provided with the room which we’d paid for, but rather it turned out to be a great hassle and inconvenience for us. We were sneakily given a downgraded room without being informed of such a change. When we called from this hotel room to advise of the error, no apologies were forthcoming from the receptionist and we were told to allow them 10 minutes to remedy the issue and we’d receive a call back. Even after 10 minutes of waiting in the 1 Bedded room, there wasn’t a call back so we had to call them ourselves to get the update, and were informed that they’re still working on readying up our actual room. In the meantime we informed them that we’d be having lunch at the Hotel restaurant. Even after our meal (now 2 hours had lapsed from our check in time) we made our way back to reception to see what the situation was with our room, only to be met with unbothered staff
