Two Shipwrecks are Just Offshore. Great snorkeling. Walk to the beach in 3 minutes.

3 MINUTE WALK TO THE BEACH!! Our house is named “PADI-SHACK” after the Professional Association of Diving Instructors...the owners are avid scuba divers and we love to share our experiences with our guests. Our guests often like to go out to the shipwreck with us and we enjoy being "tour guides". And, we have MANY friends that we have acquired over the years who are here for large parts of the summer. You'll be welcomed into the "family"....and YOU WILL LOVE IT.

Padi-Shack has three bedrooms, two baths, and a screened in porch just off the kitchen. There are ocean views from the upper decks, and there is a lovely ground level deck with patio furniture and an OBX style swing. The owners don’t live far away and we will do anything we can to make this your best vacation EVER!

PLEASE NOTE...we do not supply linens or paper products. A full week (Saturday to Saturday) is required during prime time rental periods. Off season check-ins and visits are
very flexible, requiring a minimum of only 2 nights!

WE REQUIRE KNOWING THE AGES OF ALL PARTIES THAT WILL BE VISITING! WE HAVE NEIGHBORS THAT LOOK AFTER OUR HOME. IF YOU ARE OF HIGH SCHOOL AND/OR COLLEGE AGE, YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST TWO PEOPLE ACCOMPANYING YOU THAT ARE ABOVE THE AGE OF 30 YEARS OLD! NO EXCEPTIONS.

Perfect getaway

This was the perfect getaway for us. The house was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. It’s an older house, but felt homey and lived in and the location was great for all the sightseeing and especially for enjoying the beach - the access was so close!! We would definitely recommend it and plan to return with friends!

Short family trip

We had a quick trip to the Outer Banks and this house was perfect. The kids had room to play inside and out. The location was central to everything we wanted to do. Checkin was easy and any questions we had were answered quickly. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location and cozy stay

Enjoyed our quick girls trip down to OBX! It’s such a great centralized location and just a short walk to the beach. Definitely would book for another stay and Randy was accommodating and a quick responder to any questions we had! Fully equipt kitchen was perfect for dinners and baking at the house and spiral staircase was a fun novelty for the girls! Fun stay overall!

Weekend Get Away

We went for the weekend, originally planning to have some decent spring weather but a cold snap moved in over the entire weekend which cut our beach plans short. The proximity to the ocean made us want to book again when it warms up though, and the house was super cozy and comfortable with all the space we needed as a family of five.It was about a half an hour from the Aquarium which was a lot of fun, and within less than five minutes drive from really decent restaurants and shops, so even though we didn't get to enjoy the beach, we had a really nice getaway.The hosts communicated with us very well and even went above and beyond to help us search after we had a lost item incident. I can't recommend this place enough, and I can see why it's always booked when the weather gets warm.

Great beach house

Loved the blue beach house :) My family stayed here over spring break. Walking distance to the beach and a quiet street location. Loved the beach blue decor, games and puzzles to play with the family. Great value for the Outerbanks and a family vacation :)

Great house in excellent location

This was a perfect place for our family. We only had 4 people, but it could easily accommodate more. With bedrooms right off the common area it was easy for everyone to communicate, but there was plenty if room so it didn't feel cramped. The location is excellent- 2 grocery stores in walking distance as well as the beach itself. Also plenty of restaurant options. Jockey's Ridge and the Wright Memorial are very close by which are great for families. We really appreciated the kitchen with quality cookware and every kitchen gadget you could need. We do a lot of cooking and it's always disappointing to find cheap cookware and utensils. The dishwasher was silent - that's a big deal in a house as open as this. No need to wait for the middle of the night to run the dishwasher. Roku on all televisions was great- so easy to watch whatever we're accustomed to.The carpet and bathrooms were a little shabby, but for us that was a plus - we have kids, and it can be way too stressful when everything is pristine. We'd definitely like to stay at this house again when we next travel to that part of the coast!
