Nice hotel but no help from staff

Pros: pool
Cons: staff willing to work with you.
Location: helicopter tour is a must
Wife and I on anniversary trip. Our room was really small. Asked for a different room but would not accommodate. The hotel was not far from being booked. We are a big Marriott rewards customer. Going to use and move to different hotel chain for our future needs.

Excellent Kauai hotel with beach, pool, and all.

We visit Hawaii for 7 - 10 nights every two years. This was our fifth trip to Kauai. Having been on all three shores (south, east and north) experiences, we believe the Marriott Kauai Beach Club has the most to offer. We enjoyed the beach every day and the numerous restaurant choices, plus easy access to all other sight seeing sites too.

Great location that's new and dated in ways.

Pros: Friendly staff, easy check in and out, easy accommodations for rental vehicles, amazing beach, centrally located in Kauai, & the hotel is very clean.
Cons: The view of the bay/beach is lessened a bit by the large ugly rooftop of the 1st floor wrapping around the pool. There is great landscaping on the gro
Location: The restaurants in the area are also reasonable, the food comes fast and was great. The beach in the cove was outstanding with tons of activities.
This is a beautiful location with a dated building. The renovations look great. Otherwise, the service, grounds and pool were excellent. We'd stay here again, but next time we'd get a balcony directly on the beach so we didn't have to look at so much rooftop.

Beautiful, friendly and clean.

We went Oct. 2013 for the second time. It was the most beautiful experience we have ever had.  It is truly a place to just relax, get away from it all.  There are wonderful and download earth places to eat within walking distance of the hotel.  We are going back as often as possible.  When we returned, we requested the same room that we had the first time, even though we didn't book direct they went out of their way to make sure we had it.  Buy a coffee mug that was $30+ it is refillable for your entire stay with tea, soda and their delicious coffee.  They offer the local island coffee reg., decaf and a different flavor each day.

We were looking for someplace we could just kick back and this property more than fit the bill...from start to finish. Don't be concerned about the location near the airport...NEVER saw or heard a plane other than the tour helocopters which you would hear anywhere. The beach is protected so it's kid friendly. Pool is huge with 4 spas and a separate kids pool.Rooms are typical Marriott (nice), staff was the friendliest I've EVER come across. We were celebrating our 40th and the first night we got back to the room and there was a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.      Tips- there isn't a lot of shade at the pool so stake out your chair under the several palms. There is a great a la cart breakfast place overlooking the pool.  For $32 you can get a 16oz travel mug.  Seems like a cheesy gift item but you get free refills of soda, coffee and tea ALL WEEK. Especially at $5.50/cup for a cup of coffee...do the math. Be sure to put you name on the mug with a sharpie. Went to the grocery store while waiting for our room and filled the refrig. Got a microwave delivery to the room so we had breakfast and snacks whenever. If you are going to hit some of the local beaches, go to K-mart and pick up 2 beach chairs and an umbrella ($10 each) or ask the Bellman.  We left ours so others may use them so there might be a few they will give you to use.      Gym is better then most. Day spa has limited facilities...just a shower. No steam anywhere.       If you are in the hotel tower by the pool (there are timeshare rooms in the building near Duke's) and you have a car, there is a separate parking lot behind the building.  You'll need directions.  Hard to find but very convenient.  Other lot is a 15 minute walk :(.      Only negative is my personal pet peeve...they charge $25 "Resort Fee" for parking (and there is no way to monitor the parking lots since they are also public for locals' beach access) and Internet. Yes you get some other perks but come on.....use your aircard and just park. When will hotels learn?      There is a great (and expensive) golf course on property but there are a lot of better options on the island.       You might want to take the 90 minute Marriott Vacation Villa sales tour. Really tempting plus you get some additional perks. If not for the "Closer" who was, in my opinion, a bit insulting (my wife and i are both in sales and he knew that) we might have bought.  Still considering...Marriott has an awesome program.      Definitely the best and most relaxing week...now back to the office...ugh!!!

the hotel was wondetful! the staff was so nice .

Pros: beautiful grounds
The pictures on line of this hotel does not do it justice. It was beautiful and the grounds were so well maintained. The staff was so nice and accomodating. They even have a linget longer program and since our flight did not leave until 11 pm it worked out well for us....we could stay on the beach longer. We would definately go back to this hotel.

loved it

The hotel is outstanding. Great staff, beautiful grounds, huge pool, and the ocean is calm and shallow. We stayed in the timeshares. The location is perfect to all the areas . We can't wait to go back.
