Oasis Family Vacation

Traveling with an infant can be stressful. This resort made it so easy! They had a pack and play ready in the room. We loved having a kitchenette to cook whenever we wanted. Having a pool and jacuzzi on site meant we could enjoy time to ourselves when baby was asleep. There were activities every day. The concierge had great ideas for what to do, and the location next to the ocean was amazing... we fell asleep listening to the waves after taking nightly walks along the miles of beach watching the sunset. Staying in the north let us truly disconnect and had us close to hiking, botanical gardens, great beaches, and an idyllic setting. Can't recommend enough.

Nice old fashioned hawaiian hotel

Great location with simple accommodations. It rained a lot so that affected the overall feeling of our stay. Also, it is hard to have a family in the condos because there aren't real doors to close to shut off the space. They are just sliding screens, so very little privacy and hard to stay quiet for baby to sleep.

Almost perfect

The only thing to keep this place from perfection, is the yappy dog in A2. Avoid the Alii building unless you like a dog waking at you all times. Otherwise, the view is incredible, the sound of the ocean is awesome. The other problem with A4, was a constant battle with ants.

My family and another family stayed here together for a week in March 2011.

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
The staff was VERY polite, knowledgable, and helpful. This is a BEAUTIFUL setting. The rooms were exceptionally lean, and the pool/hot tub/ bbq area was a true treat. I will stay here again, and I hope it is SOON! This hotel is located on the North Shore of Kauai, close to Tunnels and KeeKee Beach, and the start of the Na Pali Coast Trail. I have never been in a more beautiful spot on Earth!!!!! ALOHA!!!

HCR was awesome.

Pros: Free Internet, Quiet
The only negative comment is that the view is somewhat obscured on the first floor condos. Other than that, it was perfect. Wished we could have stayed longer.

Stunningly Amazing

Not sure what experience everyone had at Hanalei Colony but it was absolutely amazing. I went there for my honeymoon and had an amazing time. The beach was beautiful. We took advantage of the concierge service and had a helicopter tour already set up for us. There are spa services on site and a restaurant which is very nice. I cannot wait to go back. We are going to try to make it a yearly escape.

Absolutely what we were looking for!! Quiet, peaceful.

This resort was just what the doctor ordered!! Definitely should get an oceanfront or oceanview room. We got the oceanview which was spectacular! Next time I go, I will pay additional costs and get oceanfront for an even better experience. Nice living/dining area; kitchen small but no worries. We shopped in town fior groceries and made most of our meals. Beautifully landscaped!! Luau there onsite is quaint but wonderful. A family comprises most of the very talented group. Ukelele player is wonderful with an even better voice; hits the high notes to perfection; dancers were adorable daughters of one of the guitar players, who is also a fire dancer and singer. GREAT TIME!
