We loved out stay here! The location was so peaceful and we loved out morning walks on the beach. It was so close to the national park and drives to Hanalei bay for food, shops, and the beach. The lush rainforest feel was incredible. we enjoyed nice rains from the porch and beautiful sun rises and sunsets. Had everything we needed and the fresh air from the windows was lovely.

The location of unit with proximity to the beach is heavenly!!The host was clear with instructions and was available if needed.A huge bonus was NOT having a television which made the stay more enjoyable and relaxing.The kitchen is well appointed.Aesthetically, the rusticity of the unit is charming and comfortable. We look forward to staying here again!!My only constructive criticism/suggestions: A deep clean of unit at periodic intervals with special attention to the kitchen appliances (ie) top of refrigerator, hood vent (I cleaned the grease off the exterior of the hood) cabinet fronts,

This unit is no where near as well kept as other units within the resort. It feels as if the owners have neglected it. Our stay was interrupted several times with maintenance workers as they were discovering a leak from the second bathroom into the unit below. Making the second bathroom inoperable for most of our stay. The unit has no closet space. Just a small dresser in the second bedroom. There is a table on the lanai, but the soffit has seen better days. It appeared to be almost rotten and falling off. All of the furniture is pretty beaten up and dated.All of the towels were stained.And the day before we left the disposal in the kitchen sink went out and the kitchen sink was forever backed up. I made the mistake of booking this unit through a rental company. Unlike all of the other reservations that I have made at this property in prior years. We will be back, but I will be more careful when making the reservation.

Nice unit with an ocean view. Very close to Tunnels Beach where you can walk thru a cave. The restaurant onsite is not operational, but you can get coffee in the morning. (Our unit did not come with a starter supply of coffee as promised).Our favorite thing during our stormy stay was the pool and hot tub. The pool temperature was divine! So warm and amazing. We all loved it. FYI there are stairs to the unit. We appreciated the fans available for white noise as the rain was LOUD.

Beautiful!

The whole island is absolutely stunning; the Hanalei Colony was like the icing on a cake. It's in such a beautiful part of the island. I especially appreciated the bed and bedding. I'm probably a bit too picky about pillows, sheets, etc. but all of the bedding in our apartment was VERY comfortable.

Perfect place and location for us

Well away from the "crowds" of Hanalei, this second floor location was perfect for the two of us. As others have noted, the ocean-adjacent location has taken a bit of a toll on some elements (like hardware), but the property was clean, the grounds immaculate, and the view to the breaking waves amazing. Not fancy upscale, but comfortable, homey, and (for us) just right. Kitchen was reasonably well equipped - we cooked all but one meal during our stay. Pool / hot pool / grill area lovely.

Perfect Location!

It was our 1st time in Hawaii, and we really enjoyed staying at this unit as it was close to the beach and feeling away from other tourists. The unit had everything we needed away from home. Would definitely stay here again!

Nice location

The property is situated in a great area. We spent our time within north shore area. This property is needing some attention due to its proximity to the ocean. The usual battle with rust and the need to lubricant Cabernet hinges before they break . It appears that the sliding doors to the main bedroom never were modified after the flooring installation. It did not matter to us but it might bother those who expected to close off the bedroom for privacy. A great place to sit and relax with good food and the best shave ice I have ever had on Kauai and Kona Hawaii.

Great place to relax

Staying here felt like we were at the end of the world, a healthy drive away from everything. We really appreciated that Opakapaka Grill and morning coffee shop were right on the property so we didn't have to drive. Our place had a lovely view of the beach from the big picture windows, and although the unit was a little "tired" the furnishings were comfortable, attractive and completely adequate.

Amazing beach access!

Love the remote feeling of the property as well as the amenities. I'll likely stay here again. this was my 4th trip to Kauai and the north shore and LONG beach walks that this property set us up for was perfect.

Perfect place for us

We LOVED the beautiful views and easy few steps to the beach, the well manicured gardens were a treat, the pool/hot tub were better than expected. The condo was very comfortable, had everything we needed. We used the blow up bed provided. Loved having 2 bathrooms. We utilized the boogie boards and beach bag provided every day. We ate at the on site restaurant a couple of times when we didn’t feel like driving back to town. Our week was pure bliss! 4 happy campers. The location of this condo couldn’t have been better for all the best hiking and beaches. We would definitely rent this unit again! Thank you so much!
