2/10 Terrible

My partner and I stayed here from 21 December 2025 to 2 January 2026. While the hotel itself is lovely, the final four days of our stay were extremely disappointing.
From 29 December, the main pool area—the hotel’s key feature—was covered by a large tent for a ticketed event open to non-guests. This removed access to sun and open sky with no prior notice to paying guests. As the pool area is the primary reason we chose this hotel, losing it for four days was unacceptable.
We are not beachgoers, and with the pool unusable our options were limited. The hotel claimed they offered “free beverages” as compensation; in reality this was an unwanted bottle of wine delivered to our room and a club sandwich eaten while sitting next to what felt like a building site—hardly appropriate compensation for the loss of facilities.
Alternative solutions offered (a smaller, less private room or visiting another hotel across town) were not reasonable, particularly as we had paid specifically for this adults-only hotel.
This was our only holiday of the year, and it was genuinely upsetting to have it end this way. Prioritising an external event over paying guests is unacceptable, and despite the hotel’s positives, we would not return.
