Despite the weather being the worst we have experienced in Kuaui, staying in one of the best units on Pono Kai made up for it. The unit was renovated some years ago but is still in very good condition, although some of the furniture and the bed pillows need replacing if the unit is to maintain its status as one of the best rental units in the resort.The kitchen is well stocked with crockery, glasses and pots and pans. This lovely unit is backed up with a magnificent view over the ocean that you could not get tired of.Contact with the owners was easy and they responded very quickly. We stayed at the unit for two weeks, and had a mid term clean arranged. The cleaner did an excellent job.All together, an excellent unit to stay in. If the unit is updated buy replacing the tired furniture, i would hsave given it 5 stars.

Our second year staying at this wonderful condo. Stephanie and Steven could not have been nicer hosts. The condo is in a great location within walking distance from many shops and restaurants about 20 feet from the ocean! It is also well maintained and beautifully appointed. We had an unusual weather pattern on last few days and they allowed us to stay one more night for the storm to clear.

Condo was as advertised. Direct ocean view, Clean. ideal location. Prompt response from host. Older complex but well maintained. Unit had been remodeled, beautiful. Elevator access. Plenty of parking. Close beach access but better beaches just north and south of Kapaa with lifeguards and restrooms. Close to walkable restaurants. Beach towels and Some beach equipment available. AC in living room only but bedroom kept cool with fans. Bedroom window on walkway so kept window closed for privacy. Pool nice but small for size of complex and quite busy but who needs a pool with the ocean so close! Listening to ocean was the best. The view is amazing.

The hosts were really nice. Communicated by e-mail and text. Lovely view and the beach right outside. Well stocked kitchen and a closet full of things to do and use. Had a few things that went wrong. We let them know and they were going to contact the resort and their maintenance person. It was not able to be fixed before we left but it would be addressed and fixed for the next visitor.

This unit was absolutely lovely. I’m familiar with Pono Kai, so I appreciated that part, but Stephanie and Steven have done a stellar job renovating this unit to make it bright and cheerful — and making sure their guests would be comfortable and have things they’d need (beach toys, chairs, umbrella, etc).

Great location with a beautiful view!

This is our second time staying here. The location is great - centrally located between the north and south sides allowing for easy drives to all activities. The view from the property is beautiful and the beach is just steps away! The hosts were communicative and prompt with responses.

My 3rs visit to island and while Kauai may have some larger resorts, this place was a total steal, especially for the breathtaking oceanfront view. Waking up to that view every morning was truly a highlight of the trip – it was absolutely gorgeous!The location is also fantastic. It's just a 15-minute drive from the airport, so getting there was super convenient. Plus, all the best restaurants and shopping spots are within walking distance, making it really easy to explore the area.Overall, I highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a perfect balance of stunning views, a prime location, and great value. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit!

Best way to do oceanfront in Kauai!

We loved staying at Pono Kai…the oceanfront condo gave us endless soothing wave sounds and daily amazing sunrises…the grounds are gorgeous and the condo had absolutely everything we could need. We cooked several meals and had all we needed…even an amazing blender to make smoothies from our leftover fruit before we left!We highly recommend d this property and thank the owners for being so responsive…

Our dream vacation became a reality!

We spent 8 wonderful days on Kauai in this beautiful condo and absolutely loved it! The view from the lanai is incredible and the sunrises each morning were stunning! It was a great place and truly a home away from home. The condo is centrally located with many great places to walk to, as well as a great path along the ocean that we walked on each day.
