The hotel is decent but most of the ‘wow’ factor is in the main communal areas, such as the lobby, the spa and the lift. The rooms themselves feel outdated, especially in the bathrooms. It feels tired and worn out and there were areas where the wood has started to rot a little and there’s also slight rust on some of the fittings. Also the carpet in the room had ink stains.
For a 5 star hotel, I expected things to feel fancy in the room as well as the communal areas but Legacy Ottoman seem to only pay care and attention to the spaces for external visitors rather than guests.
Also, the room cleaning wasn’t great. The cleaners only replenished towels in the bathroom and didn’t tidy or wipe down surfaces etc. Again, for a 5 star hotel, you would expect a lot more attention to detail by the cleaning staff.
However, the spa staff were lovely and very helpful. The spa is such a nice addition to the busy streets outside. The pool is great for family use but not for those wanting to do lengths and the maximum depth of the pool is only 1.4metres. The steam room and sauna were great and very quiet so we could relax with just our family.
