Waa very disappoi tes the hot tub was not open and there was no advance warning about it. We forgot toothbrushes and went to the front desk two different times and there was a sign saying they were busy an hour later still not there and there was a line of people waiting. Very disappointing as we have never had poor service here in the past.

My husband and teenage son stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. The room okay, but we could hear the neighbors tv until early morning hours. The arcade and outdoor areas were great. The pool looked nice, too, but we really wanted to enjoy the hot tub after a long day of walking. Unfortunately, the hot tub was broken and we were not informed of this at check in. Another thing we were looking forward to was the breakfast. Omelets were terrific, but we were disappointed with the rest of the breakfast-just not what we expected from The Blue Gate. We will consider going back to Blue Gate for concerts and possibly the restaurant, but I’m not sure about the hotel.

Not the Greatest Stay for the Price

During check in, I was checking to see if I was able to check in early, and one of the staff behind the counter gave me a look I did not appreciate. There were not enough trash cans through out the entire room. Had issues with the TV's but made them functional for the one night stay. Did not have hot water at all. It was somewhat warm at best. When we went to use the pool, the door wouldn't open for us even though we had our door card. Had to get a manager to open it for us. We were planning on using the hot tub, but it was out of commission which was not disclosed to us at check in. I was lead to believe that the restaurant is located on the property, which is not correct. You have to drive a couple of miles up the road to get to the restaurant. We ended up ordering food for dinner and had it delivered. At check out, the staff behind the counter was more concerned about the upcoming concerts at the facility than making sure my family had a great stay.

This hotel was very clean, safe, quite and very convenient for going to a show at their theater. Would definitely stay here again if I am going to another concert at this theater. The hotel breakfast was wonderful as well their dinners at the restaurant. There was a problem with my room, the toilet in my room was very low to the ground, needing a bar to get help to get off of it. We also wanted to have some pizza after the concert, but for some reason there was not pizza available that night. Also I think it is a bad idea not to have pizza slices available after the shows, most people want a snack after the show, not dinner. Also the ice cream that was available was great, but a sugar-free option would be nice.

Pool was closed , one of our key cards didn’t open door by our rooms to come back in from car , and had to wait in cold til I called other guests and my other card worked fine. Also wonder why guests should have to go outside to enter theater and come back .. Be nice if there was walkway out of the weather .. It was raining , and cold .. If connected guests wouldn’t have to wear their coats back and forth or go out in heat in summer.

We have stayed here several times over the last few years. I think we will try 1 of the other hotels in town the next time. 1 of the reasons we liked it here was the wonderful breakfast that was included with room, complete with fresh donuts and pastries from the BG Bakery. This time there was nothing fresh from the bakery either morning and some of the items on the buffet looked dry and unappetizing. The omelet was hot and made to order. I don't know if it was different as it's the off season and less busy, but it was disappointing. The tub in our room #333 had the porcelain around the drain cracked and had sharp edges. I had to take care when rinsing by swimsuit after using the hot tub. I wouldn't discourage anyone from staying here, it's just not up to what it used to be if you've stayed before. Thank you
