Our evening flight out of IAH was canceled so we needed a quick, inexpensive room near the airport with a shuttle available for a 6am flight. The Ramada fit the bill. The staff was great, we had an early check-in with no issues. Most of the public spaces are very clean and show signs of a recent refurbishment as did our room’s interior. The hallways to the rooms, not so much, but the owners are doing things in the proper order. The restaurant had a limited dinner menu but the food and service were great and the cost was on par with many outside chain restaurants. There is a breakfast buffet available for a reasonable price, but since we left at 3:30am, we couldn’t take advantage of it.

We just had a brief stay, so were just looking for a place to rest our heads between a long layover. The staff was helpful, and the free airport shuttle is convenient. However, the hotel has seen better days. The rooms themselves are dated and the shower was terrible. Not only was it mostly calcified so there was insufficient water flow, but it also didn’t get hot at all. I gave up on trying to shower, because I didn’t want to take a cold shower in winter. A garden hose would have done a better job. It didn’t bother me because it was only 1 flight of stairs, but one of the elevators was out of order.
