Staff was friendly and the room was spacious. Food and beverage in the bar and main restaurant was excellent. The lobby is very charming. The guest rooms, however, are very dated. The hotel hasn’t invested any money in guest room renovations and it shows. The rooms smelled smoky and old/dingy because the furniture and carpet haven’t been replaced in decades. We paid entirely too much money for our room. The hotel is marketed as an upscale hotel, yet they had a very cheap coffee maker and plastic-wrapped plastic cups in the bathroom. These are items that you would see in a limited service motel, not an upscale historic hotel charging over $400 a night. Disappointing.

Our room obviously hadn't been occupied in a long time. It was stuffy and it smelled like b.o. Service at the lobby bar/restaurant was terrible. Food was good though. Our room was small, didn't have a fridge. Definitely not a luxury hotel experience.

My stay at the Brown Hotel was outstanding. Drinks at the Bar we're on point. The War Admiral was top notch and one of the best cocktails I have ever had. Restaurant was solid, breakfast, brunch and dinner were all great. The winning experience of the stay was the Chef's dinner with Chef Paul and his French Burgundy region inspired 5-course meal in combination with his selected wine pairings. Definitely will stay here again. Thanks Chef Paul and the Brown Hotel staff!
