Hyatt Place Nashville Downtown
"After taking a red-eye flight, we arrived at the hotel around 8:00 a.m. exhausted and simply hoping to take advantage of the Hyatt’s early check-in options. Before I could even finish explaining our situation, the desk agent, Jazzmin, immediately blurted out that early check-in would cost $100. When I asked about the hotel’s actual policy and explained that Expedia and the Hyatt website indicated the fee was $50, she repeatedly insisted, “No, it’s $100,” without providing any further clarification or explanation. I honestly wonder how she planned to charge us that $100 since it wasn’t part of their standard fee. Thankfully, a young man later assisted us with the check-in process and placed us on the queue to receive a phone call when our room became available (an option that Jazzmin didn’t do or inform us of). Unfortunately, after traveling overnight, I expected a more welcoming and professional experience, and the way this situation was handled by Jazzmin left a very disappointing first impression of the hotel. That said, the young man was professional and his helpfulness was a 10 out of 10 (I wish I got his name). All that being said, the hotel itself, and all other staff members were great. Its proximity to Broadway was a short walk and there were good dining options around it. The free breakfast was what you’d expect from a hotel and was a great start to the day. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel and would stay again if I return to Nashville."
