Obsessed with this hotel. This was a dream place to stay with beautiful mountain views. Little hard for dinner options to recommend paying for dinner at the hotel. The carpet in the east wing stairs was disgusting and absolutely stunk - needs to be upgraded.

We had the condo room and needed to walk outside to the main building. It was raining the day we checked in. We didn’t enjoy the free drink at night as we didn’t want to go back to the main building as raining badly. Room size is good. The dinner and breakfast are super disappointed. Buffet is not much choices and main course is not fresh.

No concerns about cleanliness etc. very nice staff but could use mor help at reception desk. Very nice breakfast. Room was large but no luggage rack or place to open luggage except hooks at entry. Also I am not a fan of only overhead lighting. You either had all the lights on in the room or a local light by the doorway, no soft lighting and certainly no lights by the bed to perhaps read without using a device.

Lovely Hakone Region

We are staying in one of the condominiums. Room is well appointed and spacious. We love the hot bath, and also the hot spring baths in the grounds. It’s great you can grab a beer or soft drink in the evening complimentary , and it also gives you time to chat to fellow travellers. The area is more rural, but very relaxing and peaceful for our 2 night stay. Our only negative comments would be the late check in 3pm, check out is early by 10am, and last entry into breakfast is 8.30 am.

friendly helpful staff, luxurious onsen, comfortable beds in a spacious room, great location for exploring Hakone, games and toys for kids, lots of books in various languages for readers of all ages, delicious snacks and sweets, generous open-bar happy hour(s), and an excellent, excellent breakfast —I travel fairly often, and Hakone Yutowa really was one of the very best hotels that I’ve ever stayed in. My only suggestion is that they might consider adding a fitness room.

Great 1 night stay. Perfect location only a 5min walk from Gora station where you get both the train down to Odawara and the cable car for the start of the circular trip around Hakone. Really quiet and plenty of free drinks and snacks from 3pm onwards then free alcohol from 1900 which was a nice touch. Also has private and public Onsens you can use.

Nice big room and bath water prepared for our stay. Hotel was nice. With lots of snacks, drinks, ice cream and unlimited drinks at certain time. However, AC was too warm for the August summer heat and cannot be adjusted. Only 1 key was provided for a family of four and the condominium required the key to enter the building, resulting in having to move as 1 team instead of splitting up to explore the hotel. It’s a long walk to get to the main building for the library and dinning room. There was a wide selection of manga tha my kids enjoyed.

Excellent Stay - would recommend to all my friends

The room was spacious (family of 4 with 2 teenagers) and clean. The beds were big but a tiny bit hard. The breakfast buffet was excellent with extensive choices both Japanese and enough western food options for our picky family :). I enjoyed the Onsen a few times and the location was perfect, just a 3 minute walk from Gora Station with direct access to the Hokane-Tozan railway and Cable Car (to ropeway). I would recommend this to all my friends visiting this area in the future.
