Road Trip stopover

Stayed at the Parkhaven as an overnight stop on a road trip. The room was basic, but clean. Bed was comfortable too. A reasonable price for what we wanted.

The room was not particularly clean, with dust sitting along the skirting boards and the bathroom - the shower I would not use as it was covered in mould, it needs a good going over with bleach. Also the room was very noisy as it was on the corner of two busy roads. We will not stay here again, it certainly does not warrant a 3-1/2 star rating.

We quite liked our stay here. The room and bathroom were clean and it was only a short drive to local restaurants. Check-in was quick and easy. Would stay again.

The shower had a loose tile on the floor and you could see that some work was done to the tiles but I think they missed one. There was water left in the kettle from previous people and it needed descaling, as it was very black on the bottom of the kettle. I always use some lemons for this and boil the kettle as the hot water and lemon descale the kettle.

Dripping sound in wall near bed - all night. Clearly heard water pipes when other rooms used taps. Traffic noise right outside window particularly late into the night and early in the morning, and very bright light from street lights shone into the room as curtains were inadequate to say the least. Was as bright as day in the room. Could not recommend in anyway

Had a good stay of two nights. Nice clean room and no lumps in the mattress so I was happy. Would certainly be happy to stay there again in the future.
