Excellent location on the downtown square. Comfortable hotel bar just off the lobby. Close to several interesting restaurants within easy walking distance. Parking in a garage at the rear of the hotel not included($10/day) but convenient. Convenient for visiting Gettysburg Battlefield.

Don’t expect a luxury hotel when you book a room here. I’ll start by saying the staff at the front desk are very nice and extremely helpful. The restaurant was amazing, with great service. It’s an amazing location in a beautiful town. This is what you will be paying for. Our room, a Jr. Suite at $250+ a night was shabby, poorly maintained and dirty. I would opt for a nearby B&B for less money, next time. This place does not offer good value for the money.

Nice location in heart of town.

Pros: Location and pool
Cons: One of our wall receptacles needed to be replaced. My iPhone plug would not stay in.
Location: Recommend The Appalacain Brewery food and beer and music, kids liked the root beer floats. O'Rorks Tavern food and drink, Ice cream all walking
All eateries and taverns within walking distance. Battlefield and re-enactments were minutes away by car. Night parking in back of hotel adequate. Pool clean.

Wonderful hotel at the heart of Gettysburg!

This hotel is a must for anyone traveling to Gettysburg to see the battlefield. There is a fully stocked bar and decent food downstairs as well as numerous antique and war artifact shops across the street from the hotel.

Centrally Located Historic Hotel

This is an attractive hotel in the center of Gettysburg on the roundabout. Great location. Everything is walkable from this hotel. It's very attractive inside and out, and the rooms are large, clean, comfortable, and modern in decor. I would say the oom was wider and more spacious than most hotel rooms. The pool is small, but clean and in July the water is warm since it's a rooftop pool that gets sun all day. The only downside for me was that we were on he second floor and there was a tremendous amount of motorcycle noise coming from the roundabout outside. I'm not sure why there were so many motorcycles in town, but the noise carried on until about 4am on Saturday night. A room on a higher floor would probably experience less street noise. I had trouble sleeping on Saturday night, but that's not the hotel's fault. Just an FYI if you are a light sleeper like me.

Great central location

Pros: Central location in the city. As an older couple, we loved how close we were to the shops and restaurants. Was busy, but not packed with tourists.
Cons: Would have loved an assortment of soft and firm pillows.
Location: Great location! We ate at 3 restaurants within walking distance-they were great! Large variety of shops. Shriver home tour was very informative.
The Gettysburg Hotel was great! Centrally located with very nice restaurants and shops within walking distance. The rooms are a little older, but clean and perfectly comfortable. The staff was very helpful. So much history right there. Awesome!

Love this hotel!

This is our favorite hotel in Gettysburg for times we are without the family. There is no indoor pool which wouldn't make the kids happy, depending on the time of year. But we love the fact that the rooms are beautiful and it is in close proximity to the places we want to explore.

Traffic out front is noisy!

Pros: I liked the location of this hotel and the cleanliness.
Cons: The 18 wheel tractor trailer come through the town all hours of the night and are very noisy shifting through the traffic circle right out front. I counted at least 20 of them between the hours of 2am and 5am. Do NOT stay in a room that is at the front of the building for this reason. Also, parking is in an adjacent building and you have to pay $10 up front for 24 hours and you can't leave because your spot is not reserved. I've stayed in Gettysburg many times at different places and have never had to pay to park.
Location: This hotel is in the heart of town and you can walk to restaurants and shops near by.
