Welcome to The Retreat at Shagbark - your perfect home away from home in Galena. Situated in a prime resort location, just a mile to the Owner’s Club and 7 miles to Downtown Galena, along with many wedding & event venues nearby including Ashton Hill, Eagle Ridge, and more.

As you pull into the driveway of The Retreat at Shagbark, you’ll get the feeling of being home where you can relax and enjoy time with family and friends. As you walk down the stairs to this home, you’ll see a large wrap-around porch with a bistro table and outdoor seating that’s surrounded by the peaceful serenity of nature and woods. Once you enter this spectacular, expansive home, you’ll see soaring ceilings along with the open space where everyone can gather. There’s a large kitchen where you can make home-cooked meals with a counter large enough to fill with foods for all to feast on as they enjoy time together. Off the kitchen, there is access to the large outdoor deck with a gas grill and a 3-season porch off the living room.

There are four bedrooms and four full baths, all with ensuites, with one being on the main level with a king-size bed. Upstairs is an extra-large primary suite with a king-size bed. On the lower level, the two additional bedrooms have a queen-sized bed, and the other with two twin-sized beds, and a sleeper sofa in the lower level living room. This home has a max occupancy of 10.

The lower level offers ample space for everyone to convene with a Pool Table and poker table and a TV area with a fireplace. In addition, there’s a covered screened-in porch with a six-person hot tub for use during your stay.

The Retreat at Shagbark offers something for everyone to enjoy during their visit to the Galena Territory, historic Galena, and the greater Driftless region. With this home, you will have access to the Owner’s club (six access cards included), where there’s an indoor/outdoor pool along with a game room, business center, fitness center, and basketball court. Please note, that some amenities require advance reservations.

The Collection loves dogs and wants you to be able to travel with your furry friends. This home is dog-friendly and allows up to 2-dogs with a non-refundable dog fee of $150. Please, no more than two dogs during your stay. We only ask that you please pick up your pet and properly dispose of pet waste. While we also love our felines, we’re not able to accommodate cats at this time.

Please note that Travel Insurance is HIGHLY recommended as we do not have a COVID or Weather Cancellation policy; may purchase after booking.

**All COVID-19 related restrictions have been lifted for the Owners Club including capacity limits and reservations for most amenities. There are a few amenities that do still require reservations - lap swimming (indoor pool), tennis courts, pickleball courts, and outdoor basketball courts. Reservations cannot be guaranteed, and there are no discounts or refunds if the Owner's Club amenities are not available. **
