About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Great place for a family break.

Mountain View is a beautiful cabin in a natural setting. You can relax in the spa bath, visit the little creek at the edge of the property or the dam, walk the Lemon tree walk, or just sit and enjoy the views from sunrise to starlight. Dawn and dusk sees the local wallabies gather and the many birds sing & feed on our 100 acres.

Only 10 minutes from Dungog, 2 kilometres from a clear creek to swim in or picnic by, 30 minutes drive from the Barrington Tops National Park and one of only 3 buildings on 100 acres (mostly bush, partly cleared) means there is something for everyone.

Come alone, as a couple, a small family or group to enjoy peaceful, panoramic views across the Williams River valley to the Barrington Tops & the surrounding bush here on our 100 acres.

There is a spacious bedroom with a queen-sized bed, disabled access bathroom, a bunk room with single bunk beds, a fully equipped kitchen with full-sized stove & fridge, plus reverse cycle air conditioning, TV & DVD player in the roomy lounge area, and a BBQ outside. So cater for yourself or head into Dungog (less than 15 minutes away) to one of their eateries.
The roomy bathroom has a walk in shower and a spa bath. There is a solar hot water system, with a booster switch near the stove. A half hour will reheat the water on those overcast or wintery days, so there is always plenty to go round.

In the cooler months your outdoor fire pit gives you a cosy place to sit under the stars.

Please note:
Dungog is a high rainfall area but whenever staying in the country and planning to have a fire it is important to check the local conditions. Search Search' NSW Rural Fire Service- Fire danger ratings and total fire bans' for current fire bans- we are region '3' on the map.

Beautifully situated and serene
Lovely two bedroom farm house out in the bush, situated amongst trees and bushland with kangaroos and wildlife around. Deck, spa, BBQ and epic fire pit that you can cook over under the stars. Kids bedroom and toys ready to go. Loved it.

Had a great time over the weekend. We all loved the property and the walks onsite. Bellbirds, Whipbirds, wallaby's, kangaroos, and many more birdlife - just great to get back to nature and unwind. Thanks Max.

lovely, remote and peaceful location
Property is in a very peaceful spot. The bathroom is shared through the main bedroom so probably better suited to family than a group of friends. The bunk beds were definitely suited to children and not adults again leaning towards a family rental. Max was very communicative and we had everything we needed for our brief stay. thanks

Beautiful country retreat to enjoy some peace, quiet and plenty of nature
We had a wonderful stay at the Fosterton Retreat. It was a lovely cottage located on a beautiful block of land surrounded by nature. Many local wallabies hanging out and an easily accessible river for the hot days. Would definitely recommend staying here for a country escape. Max and Bronwyn were very helpful as well, giving detailed directions and local knowledge.

Serene Getaway
Our stay at Fosterton was very pleasant and refreshing. The cozy cottage was just right for a quiet time with my son and husband. We were impressed with the crispy feel of the cottage with all amenities amidst the bushes. The melodious chirping of birds with playful wallabies feeding just outside the cottage cheered us up.The tranquility of the sunset through our lounge window completely spellbound us.Only concern was the unsealed approach road to the property that we had to travel because of a diversion due to ongoing bridge work. Hopefully, the main road opens soon. Also, we bought telestra prepaid mobile sim as no other network is available there. We were lucky to have sufficient food with us as it could be troublesome to travel the unsealed road in our toyota hatchback to Dungog in between. The property being located in bushes can have snakes too though we were lucky to not witness any.
