Hutchinson Island Hotel
"The dock is both a scenic pleasure for relaxing, clearing your mind, and a fishing dock at the far end, with two bait boards to cut and hook your favorite baits, or use sedikis and catch live bait. You can also crab net off the fishing dock. The rooms all have balconies, so while all rooms can't directly face the very wide section of the inlet, each room can be a full view of the inlet from each balcony depending on which side of the building your room is facing. There are a number of room sq footage sizes, so be happy with your choice ahead of booking to make sure you are happy at checkin. In the maintenance area, Chuck, the top hand here, is a caring and patient fellow with an experienced and knowledgeable history at this property. The prices are mostly similar to common chain midrises that are conveniently located, for road warriors, next to I-95 or the Florida turnpike, but whose views are largely either a pool, the other chain hotels surrounding yours, or parking lots with either that nearby highway, or another hotel, on the other side of the parking lot. So let's see, would I rather walk out and have a beverage on my balcony overlooking the expanse of the Fort Pierce long Inlet, and take my breakfast buffet loaded plate to the dock and sit, watching fish feed around me, children play in the clean, calm and shallow salt ocean water that refreshes itself twice a day with each tide. Versus what at the chain hotels? No contest. 3-4 minutes to the bridge to route 1."
