The toilet seat had crusted urine on the back or it, the tub had no stopper. there was just a rusted hole. The toilet seat had been painted with latex paint and it was flaking off. The toilet paper holder was set into the wall and the fixture was completely rusted. There was no Kleenex or soap for the shower. There was no hot water. The refrigerator top was rusted and chipped. There was a 1/2 inch gap under the front door to the room so anything could crawl under. There were a couple of drunks sitting on the cement porch area. There was a well made up lady smoking a cigarette on the outside hallway of the building, being extremely friendly and talkative. Overall it looked like a hotel that rents rooms by the hour.

ROACH/BUG INFESTED

Booked this room back in May while visiting friends in Ft Meyers..never again! Thank God it was only to lay our heads down at night because the rugs are extremely filthy, the room smelled heavily of smoke even tho we tried to air it out. The microwave had roaches as did the stained chairs in the room. Unbelievably the bed sheets were clean (not the comforter) and the bed was quite comfortable. If the Owners for these Chain Hotels would invest in powerwashing the walls, chairs & rugs atleast every 4-6 months, that would make a HUGE difference in Customer satisfaction and ratings! Stop and think about how many people are traveljng thru daily...its not like you cant invest in the upkeep and maintenance..Just because the average person cant afford a 5 star hotel, does not mean they deserve to stay in the dirtiest cheapest room available! Will Never stay in a Howard Johnson Ever again..had same disgusting experience back in SC Fort Jackson 2014 just didnt bother to write review till i had to relive the nightmare!

Ok hotel, a little overpriced for the kind of hote

Pros: Sorry, not much
Cons: Good clean up on the outside so it does not look so grungy.
Location: Not applicable as visiting people.
Room was clean otherwise would have walked out as the outside was grungy. Needed a good clean and spruce up. Lobby was ok. Room hairdryer did not work. No conditioner or lotion just one shampoo for two people. Used towels left in bathroom after cleaning.

Hundreds of bug bites!

I was satisfied with the very small, sub-standard room for the price, however my kids slept in one bed and complained of horrible itching all night. When checking out, we showed the staff hundreds of bug bites covering their arms, legs and everywhere in between. The only response was that the rooms had passed bug inspections. They offered no refund, no concern and no resolution. I'm not just disappointed. I'm mortified that my kids slept with bugs and the staff did nothing to apologize. Awful, just awful experience.

What happened to howard johnsons ?????

Pros: We Liked Absolutely NOTHING about this Hotel
Cons: Except for the Lobby & Entrance you can see BEFORE registering , EVERYTHING about this place Needs SERIOUS improvement ! --
Location: Location isnt Good -- Best thing to do nearby is FIND A DIFFERENT HOTEL That actually CARES about customer service !!!!!!!!!!!
This Place Looks OK from the Front --- BUT -- The Room was HORRID !!! --- On The Ground floor no less , The door had about a 2`` gap to outside @ the bottom threshhold ( LOTS of crawling bugs can & DID come right in ! ) --- A/C unit was installed with a 4`` un-screened gap to the wall & was FULL of filth , Drywall has multiple holes in it , Tile looks like it was finished by a 5th grader -- Excess grout EVERYWHERE & They didnt even mask before a VERY Poor paint job --- THE SAFETY LOCK HASP WAS RIPPED FROM THE DOOR AS WELL !!!!! --- This & The fact I had no ``do not disturb`` sign & Was thereby awakened every day @ 9 AM while on a Long awaited Vacation by housekeeping were the only complaints I voiced to the front desk staff & was told that They`d ``refer it to maintenance`` --- In a 5 Day stay NOTHING was done & this is NOT a nice part of town ( I & My Wife would DEFINATLY Have left , But the Room was Pre-Paid & NON Refundable as I booked thru travelocity , ANOTHER Bad choice on my part , They NEVER BOOKED MY RETURN FLIGHT !!!!!! ) ---

Bring bug spray!

Roaches crawling on walls and out of coffee pot. Toilet backed up. Terrible smell in room that actually made me sick the next morning!

a very clean and affordable hotel.

This is a very clean and affordable hotel for those of you that are on a budget. I know I Know there are some bad postings about this and other hotels. You can please some of the people some of the time, but you just can't please all of the people all of the time. That pretty much goes for any type of business. Thank you Ho Jo's

Roach motel

Pros: Clean place
Cons: Everything
Location: There is a shopping mall close by that is it. This place is in a bad part of town not much to do.
As soon as we pull up to the hotel I knew we had made a mistake by choosing this hotel.we decided to give it try anyway since it was for one night only. We checked in and went to our room which was a miss match of furniture from a few decades pass including a new flat screen tv, however the room was incredibly clean so we decided to stay. I was sound a sleep when I felt something crawling on my leg, I woke up to a roach crawling on my leg. I was so upset I couldn't go back to sleep. I spent the rest of the night on the edge of the bed watching TV waiting for daylight to leave. In the morning I talked with the front desk clerk whom jihad nothing to say not even I am sorry he did tell me that I would be getting a receipt from Travelocity because when you reserve with Travelocity they don't waste money on printing recipes for custumers. Clean hotel with roaches in a bad part of town this was not a pleasant overnight stay. The hotel is very old and needs a few repairs and so excited paint and new furniture, BTW the old tvs were still on the hallway because they have been recently replace. Travelocity needs to be more proactive about the hotel's they promote in their website this is a dump and I wouldn't have them on the website for customers to chose from. The pics that are shown are not what the hotel looks like now horrible, horrible, horrible. Stay away from this place.is a roach motel in a bad part of town and the owners could care less about their customers.
