The staff was amiable and efficient. The room was ample, modern and clean. Ample parking even for vehicles with trailers. The facility is a very well maintained vintage hotel. Don’t expect the glitzy new buildings being built today, but the renovated rooms with comfort, cleanliness and amenities are exceptional. I recommend it.

Stayed one night on my way to Virginia. Very dated hotel, not sure how it has an excellent rating. My room smelled like a cross between an old man and a gym locker. When I ran the water in the bathroom it had a sewer smell. I had to spray my perfume in the room to get whatever the smell was out of there. Just very musty and old. Not thrilled with the location as I did not feel 100% safe. Thumbs up for the staff at check-in and check out, and the bed was comfortable once I sprayed the pillows to get rid of the smell.

Check in was smooth and quick. The room was comfortable as well as the climate control. This was our second time staying in this motel and would not hesitate to book again. At first I was leery about Howard Johnson's but the high ratings are well deserved.
