"This place is way more than just a beautiful hotel. It is a fabulous nature preserve as well. And the grounds are full of beautiful gardens with lots of birds, especially hummingbirds. Our room was a Master Suite which even has a private glass walled patio looking out into the forest, and containing a Jacuzzi tub for two. The restaurant was also fabulous, with delicious food and great service. We.also took advantage of two private photo tours booked through the hotel and guided by a very experienced member of the family that owns the hotel. Both tours were wonderful experiences and we got many great bird photos, including the Resplendent Quetzal, thanks to our guide Raul. Be warned, though, that you must have a camera that can shoot in very low light with a long telephoto, if you want to get good photos in the dense forest canopy. And you must have an expert guide like Raul to find the birds in the forest, especially if you are seeking the Resplendent Quetzal! We sure hope to return someday and stay longer!"
