"The room was big, clean and comfortable. The hotel was beautifully kept. The river terrace was impressive (although the weather was not brilliant for us - not the hotel’s fault!). Ample parking and well located for a short walk into town."

El Franco Hotel & Travel Guide\n
El Franco has just one place to stay. So if you're looking to stay close to the main area in El Franco, be sure to book early.
The closest Travelocity-listed accommodation is the Parador De Ribadeo Lugo, Galicia, located 10 miles (16 kilometers) from the downtown precinct of El Franco. Or instead, you could look into the Blanco Hotel-Spa, located in Asturias, which is 7 miles (11 kilometers) away.
The Hotel La Rectoral can be found about 17 miles (28 kilometers) from downtown El Franco. If you would prefer another option, the Hotel Mi Norte can be found approximately 14 miles (22 kilometers) away. Two more alternatives close by include the Hotel Mediante along with the Casona de Lazúrtegui.
The greater Asturias region is definitely worth having a look at as well. Visit Asturias's castles and churches and don't forget to relish the area's beaches, coastal plains, forests and rivers. In this area of Spain adventurous visitors can also take up the chance to partake in snowboarding, skiing and cross-country skiing.
Want more to do? Spend a few hours checking out Plaza Mayor and San Lorenzo Beach, in Gijon, 60 miles (94 kilometers) east of El Franco. The Abba Playa Gijon 4s and Hotel Don Manuel are a handful of the convenient apartment and hotel choices in Gijon. 55 miles (85 kilometers) east of El Franco, you can find Luanco, which features the Piedra and El Carmen. The Maritime Museum of Asturias and Church of Santa Maria are some of the more popular sites to get to know when in Luanco.
Before your El Franco trip draws to a close, why not spend an afternoon cheering wildly with some of Gijon - Asturias Coast's lovers of sports at an engaging game. You can find El Molinon 60 miles (97 kilometers) to the east of El Franco. Book a Travelocity-listed hotel not far from the sporting action at the Alcif or the Hotel Hernán Cortés.
Asturias Airport is a practical entry point for flying into and leaving El Franco. It can be found 40 miles (65 kilometers) from downtown. For travelers who hope to stay nearby, try the Palacio de La Magdalena Hotel or Hotel Marqués de la Moral.

Hotel A. G. Porcillán
"We came to Ribadeo for the 2026 total solar eclipse. We stayed the entire week. Aurora and Israel are fantastic hosts. They answered all of our questions and served us wonderful coffee every morning. Advice for others going to A G Porcillan: 1. Parking. Do not try to park at the hotel when you arrive it will likely be busy. Go to Estacionamiento del Puerto de Ribadeo and park there, then walk to the hotel. It isn't far, there are usually spots open, and it will save you from having to turn around in narrow streets. DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH TOWN! Google Maps will suggest this, don't do it or you will get frustrated! 2. READ THE BOOKLET in your hotel room. It has all sorts of information you can't find on Google, like the nearest grocery store (GADIS, you can walk, they have wine and beer and fresh bread); restaurants that are open all day, sights to see, etc. I wish we had read the booklet before we ventured out on our own the first day. 3. Ask for the room with the BIG BALCONY. Such a relaxing place after a long walk or a drive around the coast. The stray cats on the rooftops were entertaining. And it was cooler out there (the hotel does not have A/C but they provided a standing electric fan). 4. Aurora will provide the paperwork and information to visit Praia as Catedrais. This is very important, that you GO 1 HOUR BEFORE LOW TIDE. If you go after low tide you might get kicked off the beach. Trust your hosts. Love to Aurora and Israel! --Sarah and Adam"
