The Cortijo Puerto el Peral is about 10 miles (15 kilometers) from the city center of El Chorro. "The rooms are basic but very reasonably priced and very clean, with aircon and storage for clothes, just what you need! Breakfast at 6euros/person was lovely and served to you in your room. We ate out on our room balcony with breathtaking panoramic views of the castle and surrounding mountains. Lots of hot water, clean fresh towels (daily if required) and shampoo supplied. TV in the room and a full size fridge so you can easily self-cater if you are travelling on a budget. Rooms are so reasonably priced! Our hosts could not do enough for us very helpful, knowledgeable and informative. Hostal Duran is right at the edge of the bustling village, filled with cafe's, bars restaurants (tapas was a favourite for us) and shops. There is also a very clean outdoor public swimming lane pool and a leisure pool, with the fabulous mountains for a back drop at 2euros/person(cash only for the pool). A couple of parks for younger kids, a winery for the adults, a selection of clothes and souvenir shops, a local pharmacy and a high street bank. Great air conditioned direct train link to Malaga Central and a regular local bus service (cash only for the bus). Local taxi drivers are a fountain of knowledge. Andalusia is the home of flamenco steeped in history with hidden gems such as Alora, a must see!"
