We were excited to stay near Denali and appreciated the location, but our experience was affected by how the host handled a pet-related issue. The listing is marked pet-friendly, and we had disclosed our small dog during the original reservation, but were still charged a pet fee after rebooking—without the fee being shown at checkout. We were told we should have “checked a box” to declare our pet, and when we raised concerns, the host became defensive and mentioned being “able to ask us to leave.” Our dog was leashed the entire stay except for one brief moment, which we corrected immediately. The cabin itself is very rustic (plywood-walled A-frame), which is fine if you’re expecting something basic. But if you're bringing a pet, be aware: the host is strict, and the property is very close to a kennel of sled dogs that bark or howl anytime someone steps outside.
View of how close the dogs are.
Things aren't as spread apart as I personally thought.
Next tent over. You have to be pretty quiet here.

Owner/manager was great. excellent customer service, she made sure that we felt safe and helped us with every question. All the amenities were there. Except food. We would have enjoyed it more if it didn’t rain the whole time we were there. Could improve on out house and cookware.

Amazing!

If you want to get away from all the other tourists and enjoy the Alaskan wilderness, this is your spot! Comfortable, off-grid tent cabin on Emily and Richie's homestead with an amazing view of Denali from your camp chair. About 40 minutes from the entrance to Denali National Park. Friendly owners. Great dogs! Got to "camp" in Alaska without bringing any of my gear.

The perfect “glamping” spot

My friends and I had a great time spending our trip to Denali on Emily’s property. The views were beautiful and the tent was packed with everything we might need. It was also very cool going on their dog mushing tour and meeting all the dogs! Emily was very communicative about anything we might need and was always just one text away if we ever had any questions. Overall we had an amazing trip and we’re very satisfied with our stay!
