Early communication with the host was good. The neighborhood was nice and so was the City of Richardson. But when we arrived to check in a half hour late per owner's request due to cleaners being there he told me. Check in was easy, upon arrival and walking in the front door through an unkept yard, we were greeted by the smell of cat urine and cigarette. Only to see out the windows in front of us a green pool and hot tub. The floors were not vacuumed and had cat hair, glitter, coins , nail polish, and dirt on them. Crayon and writing were on many walls, as well as stickers on the walls and windows from children. The dressers were full of dust. The old blankets were in a closet covered in cat hair. There were no towels left for our group of 6. I contacted owner for a refund, he wanted to send cleaners back and refused to refund. This was not acceptable as I told owner we had all just traveled over 1500 miles and needed a clean place to stay. I ended up finding a new place to stay due to the unsanitary and unhealthy conditions at the rental. The photos in the listing are not what you get when you arrive and the host is not the owner of the property, nor did he have the permits to operate a short term rental I found out after I checked with the City of Richardson, TX Code Department. Beware when renting this property what you see and what you get are very different.
